We really need you all now
Beauchief Owl replied to shandypants's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Most 'hardcore' will have STs so to expect those who basically are being asked to pay expensive Championship prices for the privilege of seeing their team battered on the road to becoming a L1 club ought not be criticised. The true test will be when STs go on sale. For a team in our position the fan support is nothing short of amazing. -

There's going to have to be some serious price discounting to keep fans going for the second half of the season or some interesting additions in the January window or something in between. -
Should not be losing games like that

New owners can afford to wait to make a decision. Getting a highly rated manager will be expensive and getting rid will also cost. No point till the summer when, as with players there will be more choice. I would like to see HP given a few more PL loans like the three lined up on deadline day, if only even one of them was as a good as Amass. -
The point is if it's your chosen penalty taker that misses, it's disappointing but not every penalty results in a goal. There's a reason a pen taker is nominated before the game, he's the most likely to score. Twice we've let sentiment rule heads re penalties to establish a two goal lead, today and Ugbo against Millwall. As a result we got one point out of the six we could have expected. Unprofessional.

He's held his nerve under pressure situations such as in the penalty shoot out with P'boro. That's important when taking a pen. -

He's done exceptionally well today. He's hardly been a reliable finisher since he joined for the vast majority of time. -

Who cares? Probably the best part of a 20k crowd. It would be nice to get our third win at home in this calendar year . If nobody really cares they might as well do some Xmas shopping instead. -

Is McNeil our usual pen taker or is it the case we handed him the chance to get a hat-trick. If so poor. The last time the team let their heats rule their heads was giving Ugbo the pen against Millwall and he missed the chance to give us a two goal lead and we ended up drawing and losing 2 pts. Unforgivable if he wasn't down to take a pen today. -

Too true, unfortunately. No point leaving it to the last15-20 minutes if tiredness a big factor. Cooper needs to be on, Otegbayo was always going to struggle. -

Lot of criticism about attendance likely to be low today and fans supporting the club. TBH, It's a good job the team wasn't published before the tickets went on sale. You never know but it looks like it's going to be another very tough watch today. -

Well given his ability to be where the ball isn't, it would give Hovath a better view of the ball and general play. -

Fusire and Otegbayo at the back. Smudge might be worth a bet to score today. -
I feel down every time he is named in the starting lineup never mind actually trying to spot him near any meaningful action on the pitch.
-
One sale totalling more than the Cancer managed in his entire decade long reign, or should that in actuality be his decayed long reign? Sums him up as a football owner and businessman.
-
Actually I think a drop off in attendance could have some benefits. If bidders reconsider and the price drops, not only does the Cancer get less money but the new owners would have more headroom to invest in the club. Of course it could mean a 15 pt deduction, irrelevant unless it is carried over to next season which of course changes the scenario. This season is gone.

They've had it rough and I don't begrudge them their renaissance. Good luck to them indeed.

This plus being outside of the top division for over a quarter of a century. TBH IMO half the PL clubs would not get our attendances if they got relegated and only spent a decade bouncing around in the lower divisions.
