  1. It still makes me laugh when people rage against the result or performance in complete isolation from our circumstances......ffs.
  2. Simon Jordan summed up tha Ashely bid which was exactly what I said a couple of days ago. He's essentially stuck a fiver on the table and said I'm here if you need me.
  3. For me he's every inch a club legend, especially when you factor in how much of what he has achieved here he's done under adversity. In terms of the rest of the players, they are doing all we could ask of them, representing us with pride and integrity in spite of everything. It shouldn't be underestimated how difficult it is to "turn up" every game when the odds are so stacked against you.
  4. If anyone mentions plans for the short, medium and long term I am finished.......
  5. OP's post is at odds with their username...... In a couple of weeks we will have plenty to work towards. If anyone didn't mentally transition months ago to the reality of this season that was kind of crazy.
  6. At least he doesn't have to worry about a dip in form due to the sleepless nights......
  7. Proof he can score?
  8. Personally, I feel like Ashley was the most likely buyer in the event there was little interest. I don’t see him bidding against several other parties. His offer is likely on the table in the event other deals breakdown or parties ultimately step away for one reason or another. Beggars can’t be be choosers I get it….. but it would be the most Wednesday thing ever to transition from Chansiri to Ashley and for fans to be happy with that outcome.
  9. Ashley is a transitional owner, he will spend the minimum to get us operationally functional. Then at some point he will sell. He’s in the mix because distressed business is his business and to be fair he’s good at that. If I’m a member of the Wednesday staff, am I happy that a serial abuser of worker rights may be my new boss…… Not so much.
  10. I'd be more concerned by this story if I was a Utd supporter. There are already question marks around their ownership. They are clearly rabid capitalists, completely out of touch with their own club and fans. This would have been met by riots in the streets of Sheffieild, nobody wants this or would tollerate it. I'm speaking for both sides of the city I'm sure.
  11. These last few weeks in Admin have been some of our best times in recent memory........
  12. If I'm coming in as the new owner I am keeping these full stop. When their playing days are done, exactly the same approach, they are Wednesday blood, there has to be a place for them to begin the next chapter of their careers if thats what they want.
  13. The most beneficial part of Kris being so heavilly involved in this process is that we have a smart and articulate Wednesday fan in a position to communicate directly with potential buyers. He will therefore have been able to ensure they understand all the nuance and potential that comes with owning this club. Much more so I would say than an employee just doing a job. It's unfortunately not a beauty parade in which he gets to pick the winner. The highest offer is technically correct although there is nuance to that also. If party A offers 29m upfront and party B offers 30m in installments offer A wins. Given the nature of the parties interested this now looks moot as wealth and liquidity appears not to be an issue. It does mean that it's now likely to be sold to the party that wants it most, I can't see a downside to that. There's the obvious conflct that most of us feel about wanting DC to feel more pain for what he's done to us and the club but collectively we need to let that go. I'd rather our next owner be in it for the long term but as I've said before there are certainly parties circling that see us an opportunity to sell on for profit after getting the "house in order", that's just the reality of these situations and could still ultimately lead to the "good" ownership we all want to see. It will be a relief to see us making the news for the right reasons.
  14. I agree, that was very evident today. I can't bring myself to join in with the criticism of them or the manager though, the blame lies elsewhere.
