  1. Ooooo! Now that's a bit controversial! Don shades it for me but his leadership on the field was exceptional. Irish was dependable and VERY solid. Irish and Roland eh? Together, they shade it over Megson and Peter Johnson, but again, only just!
  2. Actually 4eva....... that is a bloody good idea!! Also, i would pay for a Wednesday Greatest hits video AS LONG as it includes the scoreboard preamble Re-set video from last Saturday! Actually, if anyone can send the reset bit or post it, I'll chuck £25 into whatever "Sheffield Wednesday rescue fund is available!
  3. Well said Lime Tree.
  4. You have to LOVE Henrik! When we were dying, he stood and continues to stand focussed and resolute for all who support this great Club. He could have left and nobody would have blamed him. We need to stand with him.
  5. I think he was an apprentice Torry. Brian Woodall though...the destroyer of Leeds in that Cup replay at Elland Road after Johanneson had given them the lead in the 7th minute...( after John Ritchie's last minute equaliser the previous Saturday)
  6. In 1964, we couldn't afford Christmas presents because the steelworks were on a three or four day week. Everybody was poor together, so as kids it made no difference. I got a Dinky toy D Type Jaguar, a cardigan my Mum knitted for me and this photo. She took the bus to Hillsborough from Tinsley and all the players signed the back. Swanny and Bronco said that I wouldnt want their signatures, because they were suspended because of the bribes scandal ( How wrong could they have been?) and a young apprentice thought I'd never heard of him so why would i want his signature? Howard Wilkinson was always modest. The best Christmas present EVER. There you go Chansiri. All my yesterdays. You really are not a fit and proper person to walk in their shadows. These are the men who carried a city and its people through poverty and decline, and gave them hope and happiness in the darkest of times. Just GO.
  7. Harkes v Derby Nilsson v Lee Sharpe Tudgay's screamer at the Lane. Hirst's second v Hull Laurie Madden at Wembley, John Ritchie, Bronco, Swanny, 4-0 v Roma. 3-2 v Barca, 5-2 v Lyon, 7 against West Ham, Peterborough ( obviously) Chansiri selling us.
  8. I just remembered 1-4 v Ipswich in 1961-62. Undone by Ray Crawford and Ted Phillips who had five attacks over 90 mins and hit the crossbar with the other one. First time I had seen Wednesday lose, and I started watching in 1959! Like most families then, we only went when Dad could afford it, but he chose the games well !
  9. Rushden and Diamonds 0-0 at Home. I travelled from Inverness to see Grant Holt make Jeffers look competent in comparison. It was truly awful. Mind you there have been some close challengers. Jeez !
  10. That Paul Williams goal to finish off Chelsea in the semi-final 2nd leg though...Over thirty years ago and I can still see the ball curling over the keeper. My late Dad and youngest daughter half way out of their seats with everyone else in The North.. And what memories will there be for today's Wednesday fans Mr C ? Just sell. NOW.
  11. DC might entertain a Greek bid as he has been known to make a drachma out of a crisis....
  12. If we bought them with Barclaycard I think we get insurance for faulty goods. Also , in English law, if what the seller fails to do is a “condition” of the contract, the buyer may have the right to reject and terminate according to Section 30 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (SOGA 1979). I believe there might be a reference in their contracts to them being "footballers" so were on pretty solid ground. Follow me for other legal advice ( I'm not qualified by the way).
