  1. 100% behind this. season ticket holder for 45 years. wont be going to Middlesbrough game now and won’t be renewing my season ticket while he’s still here. started taking 2 grandkids last season they loved it but not taken to one this season. it’s heartbreaking
  2. Let the trust decide the game then must stand together and not attend. How anybody would not be behind this 100% is beyond comprehension
  3. Would have gone for either Vaulks or Musaba up to 70 minutes, but then definitely Beadle by the final whistle
  4. 100% this game. Snow blew sideways in to Kop all first half, stopped at half time as it went dark and temperature dropped below freezing. All clothes were soaked and then started to freeze. Only two out of the six that went made it to the end. Toshacks own goal was a classic.
  5. Was queuing to get in north on leppings lane and stewards asked two lads in front of me how old they were, the said 17 and in they went. Thought it was an odd question at the time
  6. Lots of upset Leeds fans in Karamboa sports bar Boavista

      • Haha
  7. I am in Cape Verde (Boavista) if there is anyone else here. would never normally miss a game like this but sometimes there are more important things. Both my wife and youngest daughter had serious illnesses this year. Thankfully going well but got chance to go away for a bit of respite and took it. Daughter has my ticket and is going Monday. As a kid she had a season ticket for 10 years, last game she went to was Wycombe 2012 promotion game. She deserves it for the crap she is going through at 28. ill be happy to soak up the sun and go in the Karamboa sports bar. was there last Thursday so that is a memory that will last a long long time. UTO
  8. My dad always called it the V but never heard anyone call it this
  9. Went in The Albion just off Roker Avenue for the league cup game couple of years ago. Remember drinking newcy brown and thinking how strange they sold it in Sunderland
  10. End of 74-75. I was 8 on also Leppings lane behind goal. Only owls I could see was me and my dad. No trouble, think they just felt sorry for me. They won 4-0 think it could have been 10. We were already down and think this was the game they clinched promotion
  11. Went in a few times in 70s when I first started going. One I remember most was 1st Arsenal cup game in 79. Got sent in there by police. All game Arsenal kept trying to get through police to have a go, however did get pelted with ice balls. Scary for a young lad but not unusual on Leppings Lane end in those days.
  12. Yes, I’m brainwashed, what else would I do
  13. My first away game was the save our owls game. 1975. Friday night for some reason. I was 8 and my dad said we had to go as it might be our last game
  14. I remember going to this game, playing a foreign team was a big deal back then. My only is stood on the Kop and getting absolutely soaked
  15. I was 11 and in the V on the Leppings Lane end. Didn’t throw many snowballs but was hit by plenty from the Arsenal fans. Anybody else in that part of the ground ? It was an experience !
  16. First game was technically 66 cup final. I was born on the Monday before the match. Family legend has it that I fell asleep when we went 2-0 up. Probably not true
  17. Not my first game but first one I remember. Wednesday 1 Bolton 0 last game of 73-74 season and we had to win to stay in Division 2. Ken Knighton Scored and I was absolutely captivated by the pitch invasion and sheer joy at the end. That feeling didn’t last long as I started going regularly the following season and that was probably one of the worst if not the worst in our history. One for another thread. Seem to also remember my dad telling me we had lost 8-0 the week before against Middlesboro ?
  18. Unbeaten until 27th November !
  19. 83-84 possibly my favourite season especially being a 17 year old. City was a great day out even though we were already 2-1 up by the time we got in. It was like a war zone. Newcastle away also amazing day out. People wouldn’t believe a day like that today. Swansea at Hillsboro was one of my favourites. Snowstorm first half on an open Kop, turning to minus 5 in the second half and Toshacks own goal. Amazing season
  20. Remember him getting sent off at Wolves for smashing Burridge as revenge for Burridge doing the same to John Pearson. Game when Bannister missed two penalties and we lost 1-0. Great night topped off when train broke down on way back
  21. Patrick Blondeau for right back
  22. Nothing been announced and surely now it will be the new managers decision ?
