  1. I desperately hope we take the Ipswich approach to recruitment rather than the Wednesday approach, I.e. sign younger players with future value who can thrive once they make the step-up to the Championship (with a smattering of experienced players to supplement). I’d imagine that this will rely on us paying fees though.
  2. Fraud. Thats all I have to say on the subject.
  3. I awful really needs to go… whoever gave him a 2-year deal last time around needs getting shut of too!
  4. Sounds typical of Wednesday fans and Yorkshire folk in general… they don’t like change.
  5. If it had been done properly like Liverpool did, then the ground might have been half decent with a “lick of paint”. I love Hillsborough, but it’s time to look to the future if finances allow.
  6. It’s the line from Victoria station that they’ll be using for the super tram extension out to Stocksbridge. Plans already afoot for Neepsend and Hillsborough College stops.
  7. Looks fabulous. Stick a 3500 seat arena / concert hall on the side (like Coventry) and we’ll have a whole new revenue stream to boot.
  8. I’m feeling a little more “meh” about it today than I was yesterday having had to sit through that performance. The reality is that 95% of the team and manager won’t be here next season. For me it’s about damage limitation and ensuring there’s enough of a feel-good factor left - post-takeover - to carry over into next season .
  9. It probably had better facilities to Hillsborough as well
  10. I wish they were pal. Awful performance
  11. Stood in the rain waiting for a beer for 45 minutes today while staff hand-poured Guinness out of one pump. The facilities on the Kop are an absolute disgrace and the sooner we move the better.
  12. Of course we are. Everyone of those are entitled to their opinion as well.
  13. The middle paragraph nails exactly what it is. Likely fans over 55 who like what they’ve always known and have little interest in what Wednesday looks like in 20-30 years time so long as they can walk to the ground via their local pub/chippy.
  14. Once too many. IMO the whole stadium “stay or go” debate is about people letting go of the past and thinking progressively rather than focusing on being able to walk to the ground via the pub inside 15 minutes.
  15. Id move to a new site that’s fit for purpose where flood precautions can be put in place.
  16. Football stadiums have moved on a bit since then. If the money for anything on a scale is available, I’m afraid to say there is zero chance of staying at the current site as it’s just not fit for purpose and also floods.
  17. Won’t look too bad with 750-800 stood up on LLL
  18. Doubt any of those could mate - all around 32000 max. Coventry is max 32,600 without segregation. Should be biggest Championship crowd of the season if it’s over 32,500.
  19. Cheers Big D. Looks like it’ll be very close to a sell out
  20. 100% agree. Maybe find a way to make the bottom half of the NW corner usable again with an additional 500 seats. Failing that just stick away supports at that end of the North Stand and allow them to utilize the Leppings Lane entrance.
  21. Looks fab… so doesn’t that extra space around the ground. Unfortunately the site at Hillsborough is no longer fit for purpose in the modern era. Hopefully the new owners can find a new site and drag this club into the 21st century
