Should not be losing games like that
elyowl1 replied to fedupowl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Blaming the manager in the current situation is like appointing a new captain to the Titanic as it’s going down by the bow and blaming him for the ship sinking.- 92 replies

Fully fit squad and we have arguably a better team as it stands , albeit Bannan is a few years older.

Until the takeover is complete and the EFL clarify the sanctions position then it’s all guesswork at best. We can be in a very bad situation with regards to recruitment or in a very similar position as Birmingham were 2 years ago depending on the owners pockets.

What’s the timescales of the injured players ?
elyowl1 replied to Kopparberg's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
And most of the second 11 , luckily we had a third 11. Although that’s part of the reason we are in the current situation , I think we had nearly 40 pro players at one point -
Like the idea , visiting supporters paying £100 for a four match ticket. Shame they only get to visit the once

Had a knee injury or something similar and never really settled in.. Always thought selling Shirtlift was a huge mistake , and certainly proved it when he came back a few years later. He was certainly as capable as the likes of Mabbutt and Fenwick who were capped for England. Back on topic always thought McCall should have been a decent signing but another one who had injury problems.

Iorfa either brilliant or Abysmal, never sure which one will turn up

They don’t get any better at 19/18 years old respectively either

Administrator being interviewed on Talksport around 09:15.

Shows how much has changed in 15 years , in a worse position than before Milan took over and he was the only bidder . Nuw they are queuing out the door utterly bonkers -
How much branding / high prices would you accept?
elyowl1 replied to WimJunk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Which may be true at this moment in time , give it 18 months and mid table stagnation and the Disney show may end and the linked sponsorship. -
Owlstalk Prediction Champions League

4 pts not a bad return -
No points deduction , get him paid off and let’s start again I would rather see him and the other creditors get more money than lose another season next year with a potential points deduction. The truth is that we will lose supporters over the next 18 months and I would want them to see a successful season next year rather than waste any emotional energy on Chansiri , we never know when our time is up as we sadly lost one of my favourite posters on here Pessimistic Owl at a relatively young age just a few months back.

Should a new Owner retain Pedersen OR replace?
elyowl1 replied to 1952Owl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I would like the new owners to give him a chance , however with a threadbare squad it gives the owners a blank canvas player recruitment wise and if they feel a new manager is needed it should be done quickly. Part of the problem under the idiot is the sheer number of players signed who barely played , McGugan , Lachman , Turner , Winnall etc etc etc. millions wasted -
Bill gates taking over , with Southgate as manager and Capello as DOF
-
Probably only Carlsberg do miracles like that would need no more points deductions , new owners in by January transfer window with permission to sign players and somehow our currently threadbare squad to put enough points on the board to be within 5/6 points of 4th bottom. Be interesting to see a full Hillsborough over the next few weeks backing the team , we do tend to do well with a full ground.

SWFC IN ADMINISTRATION - CONFIRMED

Outpouring of Jubilation for a company entering Administration , Not often that has happened. Hopefully all the staff will be taken care of and the local companies get the extra support from us fans where we can -
BREAKING: just days from a winding-up order over tax bill
elyowl1 replied to MattP's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Ultimately yes HMRC can take direct action against Chansiri , but it will be for running the Club Insolvently in breach of UK Company Law when he should have appointed administrators and it is feasible IF they do so he would be personally liable for the debts as Director and owner. However the issue being it may be unenforceable given he's Bugg erred off back to Thailand so I doubt that any such action would take place -
He’s playing HMRC and UK Company Law , not paying bills on the due date is trading insolvently, he’s doing it month after month. IF this was a Public Listed Company it would have been over months ago

BREAKING: just days from a winding-up order over tax bill
elyowl1 replied to MattP's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Just seen this , I also believe that HMRC may well be still looking at going for Chansiri personally as they believe the club has been trading insolvently in their opinion for months . Again my contacts there won’t confirm or deny what’s going on , but the language they use indicates that is an option -
Which young players did you expect to make it?
elyowl1 replied to WimJunk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Odd one given he had a great career but Chris Bart-Williams RIP , genuinely thought he would have won a fair few England Caps. And that Bannan bloke really should have playing in the PL for the last 10 years -
Two weeks to the next payday and the farce starts again

Which young players did you expect to make it?
elyowl1 replied to WimJunk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Said before Joao should have played more in his second season alongside Hooper and Fletcher rather than going to Blackburn. But the club pandered to FF and let him play centrally where he was ineffective a lot of the time. Far too many drawn games that season , MK Dons near the end sums it up, unable to break them down and a 0-0 draw as they were relegated that day, Joao offered something none of the other 100 forwards we had did. -

elyowl1 replied to WimJunk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Dean Barrick , his first few games seemed ok but faded quite quickly. Ryan Jones but injured odd one but Siggi Jonsson , if it hadn’t been for injuries I’m sure we would be talking about him as the best midfielders of the 80s and early 90s
