  1. Could one be Nigel Jemson ?
  2. A brilliant performance from all involved tonight ...playing football in the right way ... with determination and graft ... and no little skill. It was a performance that rekindles one's belief in the beautiful game ...so well done to all . To put in a performance like this despite all the disappointment , stress and undesirable goings on in the higher echelons of the club this was particularly creditable and gives us all hopes for a future, at some point , with constructive supportive owners . The grass roots are clearly in good shape ...all we need now is 'a change of groundsman' .
  3. Trouble is Chansiri may well simply see him and his performance as 'money in the back pocket' rather than a positive from the game that can help us progress going forward in the future.
  4. Chansiri will probably try to sell anyone who scores ...
  5. He can sell at a loss ... and then solve his own problems, without dragging the club and thousands of supporters down with him . At the moment we are about a month away from the start of the season ... and 91 out of the 92 clubs are preparing for it hopefully and as positively as they can ... and then there is us ... without a completed playing surface to play or train on ...with a diminished playing staff and coaching staff , with problems with the superstructure at the ground ... and every possibility of incurring further external penalties which would challenge even a strong squad ... never mind a squad of young untried players at this point in their development... and who ... I wonder ...is to blame ? The problem ...and the solution... lies with one man.
  6. We clearly need one or even two more defensive minded midfielders when playing a decent side . Not having them creates the vast areas of open space , and unmarked players that we saw today... that the opposition can exploit when going forwards leaving the defence ... whether it be 4 or 5 ... with the opposition running at them unchallenged . Also if we are going for a high press , we all need to do it ...and we need to do it quicker . At the moment it is being done individually ... usually leaving one or two passing options open . The longer we leave it , the more we are in danger of losing all that positivity and confidence that was clearly evident in the Plymouth game. Compare the number of passes backwards or square passes now compared to the Plymouth game . ( I accept that Plymouth were not a strong side ...but many in the Championship are .). I still believe we have the management team , and many of the players to put things right ... but improvements need to come quickly .
  7. ... Well , we all live in hope ... I was not implying that all of our current playing staff were 'old bangers' by any means ... we have one or two effective 'parts' ... but overall we are just not as 'sleek' or effective as most of the other squads in this division. ... and most of them have added more quality to their squads in this window.
  8. We now have a situation where a few weeks ago Mr Chansiri appointed a man who appears to be an excellent manager ..who has quickly lifted spirits in and around the club and improved the performance of many of the players .... He has also appointed a very good team of supporting coaches , trainers and other staff for this level ... which was seen as such a surprise that people honestly wondered whether or not a new consortium was actually behind those moves . We now have a situation where , with only a few days left in the current transfer window very little has been done to strenghen and rejuvenate the playing staff to the same extent and so we now all fear that nothing more will be done to strengthen the team and a superb opportunity to grow will be lost . This is rather like a new Forumla One team signing up Lewis Hamilton as their lead driver ... and appointing a team of highly qualified, proven mechanics to work on the car ... but then providing them with a 3 year old Ford Fiesta to drive and maintain . Now, however sturdy, reliable and even stylish a Ford Fiesta might be when competing against other similar cars ...it is not going to compete effectively against Red Bull, Ferrari, Aston Martin and other, super cars... in a track race. However this is where we are right now , and if nothing changes at least one season will have been wasted . We all await your actions with hope Mr Chansiri ... but also with a certain amount of trepidation. I guess only time will tell .
  9. Having appointed a strong coaching team ...who have worked a minor miracle so far in improving the feel around the club ..and improving the results , probably as far as they can given the current playing staff .... we are in an excellent position to begin to move forward ... However that is only part of the task we are facing if we hope to move up the table ...and , eventually , to a higher division . There now needs to be some serious investment in players to enhance the skills of a few we already have ...and to replace many that we have signed who have been proven to be inadequate in this league over the past 3 years or more . This may seem like a large investment at this moment in time ...however if it allows us to stay in this league ...and then over the next 18 months or so allows us to gain promotion top the top league ...it will feel like a minor investment . The ball lies in the court of the owner . So please Mr Chansiri consider the situation carefully ...and if you still have ambiton to become the owner of a Premiership club ...this seems like an ideal time to 'push the boat out' ( within the FA Guidelines on spending , of course ) to get us moving in that direction . We all await your next moves ....
  10. Another splendid stepping stone on the way to recovery . If we allow this guy , working alongside the manager and coaching team, to identify targets we can build a team full of potential ... Thank you for this Mr Chansiri ... Keep up the good work ... If only we had done this 4 or 5 years ago ....
  11. That Mr Chansiri is willing to invest in a quality striker to help us avoid the drop ...is great news if true ... but I sincerely hope if that is his decision , that he has learned from the past and realises, as we all do , that his 'go to recruitment team' has failed too often in the past... It is clear that we now have a potentially top class manager and team of coaches ...and he should ideally allow them to be the ones to identify player targets and then go all out to sign them. Back the manager Mr Chansiri ...and the fans will then back you . Already the mood 'in the camp' is becoming more positive all round ...as a light has appeared at the end of what looked like an unending dark tunnel .
  12. I think ( perhaps hope ...would be a better word ) that if Mr Chansiri buys in to Danny Röhl's vision ... he may well be able to find a little more cash 'down the back of the sofa' than either he , or we , were expecting a few weeks ago ... for the January transfer window. It is rare to see such a change in a club through the appointment of a new management/cocahing team in such a short space of time ...and I hope even Mr Chansiri , together with any other investors he can enroll, can see the potential that deserves supporting . I really hope in the January window that he acts on the advice of his new management/cocahing team ... rather than his nebulous 'team of advisers' who appear to have failed more than once in recent times by identifying and encouraging the signing of players who were often too old , too injury prone ... or simply lacking in enough skill , to add to the vibrant and effective squad we might now begin to create .
  13. Everything seems so much more positive with a proper manager who appears to have the vision and knoweldge , the beliefs and the communication skills to make a real difference .. The difference amongst the players is already clear. Hopefully this will rub off on the Chairman ...who has now , at least , joined the positivity by resolving the immediate financial concerns ... which is all we wanted from him. Well done to all ... ... Onwards and upwards .
  14. Great stuff ...another step forward which will help to improve belief and confidence levels in the squad... and amongst the supporters ... It will also gradually cause opposition teams to change their approach to playing us . In the Plymouth game there was definitely a feeling amongst their players and supporters that if they scored one , they could go on to win it , despite the strong start made by Wednesday ... If we continue our progress , this will change ... which can be another factor working in our favour ... The major 'fly in the ointment' now seems to be the finances . HMRC bills need to be paid ...and quickly ...with an internal investigation into why it wasn't paid when due. It cannot have been an unexpected bill. Not to pay it runs the risk of undermining all the recent progress made by the new management team, and the players . ... and would leave the club with an increasingly uncertain future ...which is hardly a good base to build from or to engender goodwill from any quarter. Remove that situation and the future looks considerably brighter than it did even two weeks ago.
  15. I agree ... a lot better than even 2 games ago already ... but your point above is more about 'mindset' and that comes from confidence ... we need to keep battling ...and if we do , then once a few results go our way ... things will start to look up and the belief in each player , within the whole team ...and amongst the supporters ...will begin to rise . Confidence has been, understandably, low and continuously seeping away for months now .... and will not be changed overnight ...however with a few breaks ( and they do say you make your own luck ) ...then people may be surprised at how quickly it can turn around . Obviously a few additions to the squad should add a bit more quality to the squad ...but that cannot be addressed until the next window. Until then , 'togetherness' and positivity is needed all round .
