Good way to waste a few mil if you get your wish. Class goal from smith . Got decked in his own half and sprinted to get in position to hit that.

I agree with your assessment of the quality of our squad but it’s unquestionably Röhl’s squad. Can’t see how you say otherwise.
-
Of our 148 coaches it might be an idea to put a couple of them on set pieces

Wednesday octopus plush toys on sale in Megastore!!!!

Yeah bit of an overreaction OP. Need to stick with Röhl and his staff. We’d be in admin to sack them all anyway

Are we the Championship"s Everton?

Multiple reactions needed. Laugh. Agree. Like. Thanks. All in one. Also needs to prompt ‘close thread’ option. -
A blanket policy is admin’s prerogative but it tends to have a chilling effect on any forum and is clearly not being applied in a blanket fashion (i.e., some jokes remain). I don’t think obvious sarcasm could ever amount to libel (the effect of the words was to ridicule the post and therefore support the player - i.e., it would not have any chance of causing him serious harm (the test under the Act) or diminish his standing (the common law test for libel). Anyway doesn’t matter, keen not to scapegoat players. Hopefully all perform better going forward.

I think that’s a stretch. Statements the reasonable reader would only read as a joke / sarcasm do not meet the standard required for defamation / libel. Elton John unsuccessfully sued a paper and lost on that basis. Anyway I don’t own the website so understand it’s at owner’s discretion, albeit I think it’s an overreaction.

Some obviously made up poo about windass doing drugs with hookers (bit like the crystal meth comment) to make fun of ridiculous rumour in the thread about him being hungover. Obviously sarcasm so curious why it’s deleted. I did say boobs though so could have been struck for that reason.

Have some posts been deleted from this thread? I think mine has. Admin’s sarcasm detector seems to be running on fumes!

Can’t overreact. Got to let Röhl do his work. Preston were top after 7 games on 19 points last season then their arse fell out. 1 game, 2 games, 7 games don’t make a season. Today is a low point which we must never return to. That is the challenge.

Roles reversed from against Plymouth. We look well off it and no plan. Also signposted to whole league how to deal with us. Much work to be done for Röhl and his team.

officials have been correct imho. Free kick debatable but that’s it.

Superb today!

SWFC to BAN fans wearing counterfeit shirts?
BC1867 replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
What about the retro shirts the club shop sold for several years? I have 1 or 2 I bought from the club shop years ago (can’t prove the purchase as years ago). How will they be identified and distinguished from a ‘fake’ this rule is meant to relate to? Or will they be banned too? -
Beautiful kit. loads of early business. has someone locked DC in a cupboard or something?

I don’t accept it is casual racism to simply pick an image that looks like the person we are talking about. Frankly, I think you have mind rot if you think that it is. In any event, my intention was to have a laugh not completely hijack the point of the thread (the protest and desire to remove DC, which I agree with). -
How much would a new owner have to pay?
BC1867 replied to Siggijonsson's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I thought he bought it from us (like the ground) to get around FFP (I.e., to provide cash injection). However I could be wrong. Either way I think the club has less assets than it did when he bought us. -
How much would a new owner have to pay?
BC1867 replied to Siggijonsson's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Club’s assets have been reduced in actual terms as compared to the club he acquired: the club no longer owns the ground or training complex. You can argue about value of the squad (as compared to what he inherited) but there are a lot out of contract in any event. For context, the new owners acquiring a stake in Birmingham City at market value last summer meant that the entire club was valued at £22m. I think DC would struggle to get what he paid for us on that basis, even with inflation (but obviously the ground and training facility would be dealt with separately). -
Gulf between leagues or just us?
BC1867 replied to Geörge Whitebread's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
agree. It’s not a gap anymore, it’s a chasm. Need to bust the financial status quo like Brentford, Brighton and Luton -

A gif of Asian man being pepper sprayed at a protest posted as a joke (not saying it’s funny but the attempt was made) ion a thread about images of a protest against our chairman who happens to be Asian? I suppose I could have chosen a protest gif showing a person of another race being sprayed but the nature of the joke (I.e, a gif showing a man with the broadest likeness to the chairman) would have been fundamentally compromised would it not? safest bet is probably to attempt no jokes at all? -

it’s your site, you make the rules. what’s your policy on accusations of “casual racism” that are baseless? That seems more objectionable than a mild jibe about someone’s delicate temperament?
