Those clubs aren’t protesting at the away games, with support from the home team, agiants their owner though, and that’s why the media keep reporting on it. I don’t see it happening week after week if the away stands are empty - it would have initial impact and then that’s it IMO.
I think that regular publicity at away games is worth the £20k - or whatever the figure is - over all the away games so far. We’ve established it’s peanuts in footballing terms, yet it’s generating media coverage every game, which is essential in keeping the pressure on. Sometimes there is a greater good, and our away support is helping keep our plight relevant. That’s worth a week of Bazza’s salary every 2/3 months IMO.
People buying beer and pies at Hillsborough achieves feck all for the cause in getting the current custodian out, so I don’t see them as remotely comparable.
I speak as someone who won’t be going home or away whilst the current custodian is here, too.
