Now give us our Badge back
BrainJoicey replied to Worthing_owl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Maybe new owners can = new badge ? Great commercial opportunity. It’s clear from the comments on this post that the 2 versions being discussed divide opinion. Let’s look forward to a new start and new era with a new design ? -
Trust Call For Full Boycott Against Middlesbrough
BrainJoicey replied to TZOwl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Any chance the players could join in and initiate a 1 game kit change and play in Black & Gold v Boro ? -
Anyone know if/ when tickets for Stoke game will be available? Nothing on website and cannot get through on phone. Given North stand issues, I am loathed to drive 2 x hours on Saturday and find nothing available. Anyone had any success at ticket office ?

Song - Ain't no stopping us now - Wembley "Anthem"
BrainJoicey replied to 1952Owl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
All the players were singing after the game (on Thursday)in the bar… “Your defence is terrified Will Vaulks on fire.” (Whilst Vaulks danced on the table) Surely if it’s good enough for the players, then we should follow ? -

Ok…. We are almost certainly not going to progress into play off final. However we need to show, not only the chairman, manager, players and indeed the outside football world, that being a Wednesdayite is something unique. Don’t return your tickets. Get down to Hillsborough on Thursday and show your support for the blue and white stripes. ( The Shirt). Players, managers and even chairmen come and go. We will always support our team. Sing, shout, make your voices heard in whatever way you want. The outcome on Thursday is almost inevitable. Show that you still love your club regardless. WAWAW

SWFC Squad - permanent or loans?
BrainJoicey replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Short term planning is part of the overall strategy for us ( and most teams ) This has, for many years involved loan signings, many of whom are never likely to progress into permanent signings and neither the club that own the player or the club he is on Loan to have an intention to buy/ sell. Any team below Prem level usually have a complement of loan signings that attempt to benefit the 2 clubs and the player. Occasionally we have seen players be outstanding on loan and managed to buy them (Antonio). Ordinarily though, it is a short term fix that suits all parties. -
To the tune of Jesus Christ Superstar….. ”Georgie Byers Superstar Salutes the crowd He’s the best by far”

Only just seen this footage. Fantastic!! I was there as an 11 year old with my dad who drove the football special buses. ( we missed the beginning & end of the match so he could work!) The commentary sounds so pre war!! I remember the Kits and seeing Chelsea in Red seemed very odd at the time. Wednesday wearing white although unusual wasn’t the first time as the 66 cup run had been in the white kit ??

Is Barry Bannan undroppable?
BrainJoicey replied to waverley_owl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
The question has already been answered in September last year. Bannan was dropped to the bench away at Wigan ( a game we won) He still remains our most influential player but even the best players have a dip in form. Despite his indifference on Tuesday he has such high standards ( we also have a long injury list) he will no doubt lead from the front again against Burton. -
City u18's have a fixture clash and have to play a game on Wednesday evening. City are apparently really frustrated by this as they would have considered playing (or having on the bench) some of these players against us. Unfortunately they will have to play most of the 1st team squad now!

Fletcher on his own up front today. I'm guessing Bully will start with 2 up front at home next week. So firstly who is left out from today and who comes in ? Great to make a positive start today, let's enjoy and build on today's win........

Supporting teams other then Wednesday!
BrainJoicey replied to BrainJoicey's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Of course you can't support another team. My mistake! However...... I hate Liverpool more and more. My point is I really enjoyed City winning and feel a little guilty! -

BrainJoicey replied to BrainJoicey's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
That should read United ! -
Living in the Nothwest over the last 20'years, listening to Man City and Man U fans become somewhat tedious. However I have come to hate Liverpool more and more as each year passes. So really happy that City beat Liverpool to the title. Man U fan says" thought you supported Sheff wed ? " This is whilst he is watching city on a big screen rather than being at OT ! I so wanted city to win today, but still felt uneasy wanting city to win. I can only ever love SWFC but wonder what you guys all feel about wanting other teams to succeed. Don't get me wrong Inited are still scum but Liverpool are not far behind..........

what do we do against leeds then
BrainJoicey replied to Luke's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Simple. Just win ALL of our remaining games. Bruce has no option now other than to give it everything and see what happens. You never know............ -
Fox...... Cannot start again!
BrainJoicey replied to BrainJoicey's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
In no way am I'm I blaming Fox for not winnining today. Simply pointing out he is not good enough !! Watched him at U 23 against Crewe when he came back from injury and even in that game was poor. (Hutch played in that game was immense) Just working through the team today and thinking about next season. Fox simply not good enough ( likewise Boyd) just thought today he was poor in possession and Bruce will not hesitate in making the necessary changes !! -
Despite SB being happy with another clean sheet (as I am too) Fox has demonstrated today his many inadequencies. Distribution poor. Aggression non existent attacking potential nil. Each time I looked at SB when Fox was involved I could see him wince. I have every faith in SB as we move forward. Fox has to disappear quickly!

Jos has a very fluid formation during games and when we move from a 4 to a 3 at the back, it is essential that lees is central. He looks totally lost when he's playing on the right. Being captain is irrelevant.
-
Whilst goalkeepers positioning was poor, the fouled conceded by Fox that lead to it was unnecessary. Ipswich player back to goal and going nowhere. No need to foul, but just hold position and make them play ball away from goal. The defending for the 1st goal was just as bad as we over committed near the corner flag with 2 defenders completely out of position and we were then out numbered in the 6 yard box.

Colin: "I can't see them scoring... this season"
BrainJoicey replied to evaD's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
You were saying Colin ? 3 goals all in one game. Just concentrate on your own team. Good luck against City. -
Names / Locations of the Away pubs at Bolton. Where's everyone going ?
