  1. I thought Barkley was class to be honest. Remember him picking a ball up in midfield and playing a 40 yarder into space out wide. The winger or full back (can’t remember) only needed to run about 10 yards to receive it but just stood and watched it sail out of play. Obviously everybody moaned at Barkley
  2. Ah no probs mate I knew what you meant
  3. Yep. Ince ended up bandaged up a la Butcher IIRC
  4. Was on a school trip in Whitby, 11 years old. One of the lads had a radio so we listened to the match as we ambled round the ghost walk. Even the teachers were asking how we were doing.
  5. There’d have been about 10 mins added on as well due to stoppages so in reality, 20 mins left to play. Correct decision.
  6. Agreed. And to be fair, given just how good Kane is, noone else is getting a sniff anyway. I’d be worried if he picked up a knock though given how the whole team plays in a way that suits him and his overall play dropping in.
  7. I think he’ll go. Can see it being Stones and Guehi with Konsa and Burn in reserve. Plus he can fill in at LB given all ours don’t want to stay fit. Personally, if Maguire and Shaw could get fit/ game time I’d take them.
  8. He’s steady. Good enough for qualifiers and group stages but you’d worry a bit if he was up against M’Bappe in a foot race As an aside, just Wikipedia’d him and apparently he’s missing a finger on his right hand
  9. I think we’ll end up in the Quarters next year as a minimum, which we should all expect. I’ve been debating with you and siding with England but I actually see next year being a struggle. Our defence looks the most unsettled it has done in years, our “superstars” (Foden, Palmer, Grealish, Bellingham) aren’t all guaranteed to go, and if we’re being honest we’ve only 1 top class striker.
  10. Just for a bit of context, France drew away at Iceland last night, but I doubt anyone will be betting too heavily against them next year.
  11. Well it’s now 4-0 and I’d say we’ve played well against a team with no intention of attacking. Agree to disagree I suppose.
  12. Fail miserably? Bearing in mind only 1 team can win a tournament would you say our performances since 2018 would constitute failing miserably? I think we should have a couple of trophys in the cabinet (2021 Euros especially), but I wouldn’t say we’ve failed miserably.
  13. What are they meant to do against a team who sit in with every player behind the ball though? Look around Europe at results these days, noone blows teams away 7/8-0 anymore. Lower ranked teams have wised up in that respect.
  14. Harry Kane is just class isn’t he
  15. Couple of pubs near Hillsborough corner had them last home game. Norther Monkey being one I think?
