This jumping in and we don’t know how fit or how much he has got left.
-
I don’t think this was an Ugbo situation at all to be honest. I do think Bannan should have taken it yes, captain and pen taker. Deffo should have taken it. But we’re talking about a striker who’s scored 2 and is on a hat trick. If he wanted it you can understand it. Ugbo couldn’t and still can’t hit a barn door, and clearly didn’t want it.

Killian Barrett / pierce Charles
Dutch McLovin replied to Barnsleyowl1996's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Can he play ? Doesn't the emergency loan rules state that while Horvath is here if he’s fit he has to play? -
Way I see it we’re gonna need 24 players roughly - should be 2 or every position but we’re gonna need 5 CBs and CM players coz it’s us and we always get injuries !!! Looking at what we’re likely to have left and if we can get rid of Ugbo we’ll need… 2 keepers RB LB 4 CBs (unless we keep Cooper) 3 CM 4 wingers 2 CFs 17 new players

Out of contract players in the summer
Dutch McLovin replied to westy365owl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
It doesn’t need to be a director of football it just needs a structure. And they all have to pull in the same direction. Ultimately the manager will change but the style plan and targets remain the same. -
Two seasons to get out of L1
Dutch McLovin replied to crookesowl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
It’s gonna be hard, but this is where management of this situation needs to start the moment the new owners come in. Club structure put in place asap. Any signings made now have to be with next year in mind. In the summer do as much business as early as we can. -
I think Charles Valery and Bernard and Inglesson will go. Not sure on M Lowe. Need to get rid of the likes of Palmer Iorfa Chalobah Lowe and Ugbo. Keep Bannan. The youngsters need to make the step up next year, Cadamateri Brown Weaver Siqueria Thornton need to be playing games. Not them all but be part of the squad and play. That is one hell of a recruitment job needed. Signings need to be young with potential from prem youth or abroad, and the loans need to be quality. But we’re looking at 15 players.

You’d hope so wouldn’t you

Correct

This is accurate. We aren’t gonna get someone of that ilk regardless of the new owners. I think it’s less about the name and more about the philosophy and set up. We need to have a team and strategy in place that a manager can come and go and the plan we’re on stays the same. Much like the Brentford Model. This isn’t gonna be a quick win, turning us round is a long term thing. We should be aiming at a recruitment strategy of signing young foreign players (and ones from prem academies) and trying to develop them into good players. Having a big turnover. 60 percent of all transfers dont work so out of 10 we sign only 4 might be good… so next summer get people out we don’t want, sell players we do want to keep at a good price and recruit big again. Any manager we get who’s good will likely leave for higher ambition or be head hunted as some point, so have ideas on replacements before this happens.

First Thing Out Of The Door Under The New Owners
Dutch McLovin replied to keefdave's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I think being realistic it’s gonna be hard to either demolish and rebuild or build a new one. But yes there has to be progression. I mean there is no reason not to knock down the whole of the west stand police box and corner down in the summer and begin building a purpose built two tier stand. Lower away allocations in league one can mean there accommodated in other areas of the ground. But we know it will be expensive and take time. -

Bannan staying is a must. The club needs him. What we have got to do is stop being reliant on him. No this is not me saying bin off Bannan but he cannot be playing 90 mins 3 times a week getting kicked all over in league one. Get him doing some coaching. Pick his games to start pick which games to bring him on. If Thornton has the potential to play next year get him working with Bannan so when one goes off the other slots in seemingly. Barry Bannan should be part of the club going forward as he can continue to contribute both on and off the field. -

Really he shouldn’t. His legs have gone. I know we’re under embargo and can’t spend but we were last time we went down under Moore, we just didn’t know it ! A good recruitment team with a pro active manager and some solid coaching of youth and we can get in a new RB on a free should Valery leave and have young Siqueria to challenge him. Or even better we get Valery to stay. -
I don’t know what the rules are here but I think he has to play doesn’t he under the emergency loan rules. I mean I’d have been playing Barrett (before he went out) or Stretch long ago regardless but I’m not sure we can

Your team vs Sheffield United …

Charles Iorfa Cooper Lowe Palmer Valary Bannan Inglesson Amass Cadamateri Brown -
Think this is about right. I know there are options on Brown and Weaver but we’d be wise to try give them new contracts. We would also be wise to extend Bannan Johnson and Thornton.

Francis and Anderson !

Owls V Blades on 23rd November (Sunday)
Dutch McLovin replied to 1952Owl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
They’ll win probably comfortably. But there is no shame in that for us this year. There expected to batter us with there multi million pound players and wages -
They will never allow safe standing at Hillsborough in its current set up. Nor should they IMO, even if it was done to the top spec it would just be an invitation for trouble. Just like the farce with the Newcastle fans.
-
Exactly this. Doing the west first in this way gives us a change of staying at Hillsborough. Get the new upper west connected to the south and then the next step would be doing the Kop.. then we’d just have the longer term problem of the north stand
-
The entire west stand, police box and NW corner needs demolishing. A new purpose built two tier stand with the top tier for home fans joining the grandstand/south stand concourse and a the north stand should it be rebuilt/refurbished in the future. Then the bottom tier 3k with adjustable segregation so for away fans but can incorporate home to should the allocations allow.

Most exciting players (mavericks)
Dutch McLovin replied to WimJunk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Paulo Di Canio ! Best we have had in this category. Other mentions to Waddle & Carbone and over a shorter period Blinker. In years since the prem these have been few and far between. Johnson was brilliant at running with the ball but awful at end product. Forestieri was good. Windass had a bit of flair, Corbeanau and Poveda in shorter spells.
