  1. So, with DC gone and a new billionaire owner now in charge, what comes next for the club? 1. Relegation to League One is now almost certain. 2. The new owner will finally be able to invest properly in the stadium, training ground, and overall infrastructure. 3. With modern facilities and a stronger structure behind the scenes, SWFC could start attracting better youth prospects — though any real benefit from that will take years. 4. Even in League One, we’ll need to strengthen the squad if we want to push for promotion. The question is: how much can we invest without falling foul of FFP? 5. Once back in the Championship, further investment in the squad will be needed just to avoid another relegation battle. 6. If the goal becomes pushing for the play-offs, then even more spending will be required. Championship squad values can exceed £90m, so the gap is huge. 7. How do we realistically compete with the top Championship sides when the financial gulf — especially for clubs receiving parachute payments — is so large? 8. How long will it take for us to genuinely challenge at the top end of the Championship again? That would likely require developing quality players in-house or finding bargain signings with high upside — both risky and long-term approaches. Wednesday fans have already waited 25 years without Premier League football, but it could easily take another five years or more unless FFP rules change. And the biggest unknown of all: how patient will our new billionaire owners be? Will they take a long-term approach, or will they go “full Wolves” and spend aggressively at the right moment, accepting the risk of fines to chase promotion?
  2. I agree that simple tactics is going to be the best option with the players we have... Lowe playing inside rather than the easy pass out wide was the first goal for them... Just get it wide and down the wing and played into the danger zone... Rather than playing backwards or side to side crap.... Just attack, attack, attack as one Wednesday fan used to chant on the south stand..... Even Ugbo/ Lowe might have something bounce off of them with that approach... The alternative is we gift the opposition a goal through not being good enough for the tactics and never even have a shot on goal...
  3. Also, as a side note, if you’re going to post about grammar, you should probably use it correctly yourself — your sentence should have ended with a question mark, not a full stop.
  4. You lost me at having a forward player, as that is clearly what we don't have at the moment....
  5. I have sought help, but I’m just not sure if they’re serious about it.
  6. Sorry, but I really, really have a problem with sarcasm.
  7. I was weighting for that!!! LOL
  8. I though he played OK last year, but just couldn't score... However, this year he is like a headless chicken that is running about 5-10 seconds behind the game... So I don't know what he has been told to do on the pitch, but whatever it isn't working and might aswell watch the game from the stands...
  9. Before Carlo took over tactics and wanted to just watch SG's team with a few key players (that SG Needed) pick themselves/ tactics was the best football I had watched at SWFC for about 30yrs.... Then when we looked likely for promotion - he took over the tactics with his crappy backward/ side to side cr@p and we lost out on the gamble - two years on the bounce... So I don't get either the backward tactic cra@p or anyone who liked CC as in reality he was our real downfall....
  10. IMO a successful Man Utd has always been built around home grown players (varying ability) and I think that Amass is that type of player.... It's only since they went down a team full of fancy foreigners (rather than a couple) that they went downhill... On that note I also think that this period for SWFC has shown that we also have home grown talent that should be given a chance... The only thing for us at the moment is having absolutely zero attack with Lowe/ Ugbo causing us issues + trying to be clever rather than more direct tactically...
  11. I also think that tactically they stopped Bannan being given the freedom that he is surprisingly given by other teams....
  12. I remember Grant Holt who IMO is similar to Cadz... We didn't give him time and then George Brown IMO makes good runs and can hit the net....
  13. That brings me on to not having a striker as a target man that can hold the ball up, which is what we desperately need to give us some time to reorganise the midfield/ defence or play off in a counter attack... Instead we are just getting into good positions and then playing backwards... Or alternatively giving up the ball and defending after good play....
  14. We have had this in the past with J Rhodes who needed tactics to fit his style of play - then we played him as a loan striker.... Therefore it is the same for Ugbo IMO who we know can score goals, but clearly it is only if we set up in a style that fits fits and running around like a headless chicken (5-10 seconds) behind the the game isn't working... Even last year without the goals he looked good - whereas now he might aswell just watch the game from the stands, as it is a better view than from the pitch.... So why aren't they looking at the footage from when he was good and trying to make sure he has the same service...
  15. We need to be playing football tactics based on the players we have and not trying to be Brazil....
  16. Too many times we are turning back when in good positions and should just be putting the ball into dangerous areas... I don't get it and their first goal today was a result of not playing wide (easy ball) and instead back across the goal, which is a big NO NO at under 12's - nevermind a local derby at championship level...
  17. Next year it will be George Brown playing off of Cadz and I think they will do well in league 1 - learn their craft and continue up the leagues...
  18. He would fit in as last time I wanted to buy food they didn't have any....
  19. It would have been nice to see Pato etc.... But looks like the Wednesday fight has now gone... Then nothing upfront.....
  20. Last year I thought that he was just unlucky and once he got a goal it would be the old Ugbo as although he couldn't score he played well.... However, this year it is just looking like he will never score and the being told too run around and cause issues isn't working as he is too far behind the game...
  21. We also just need to keep it simple and get it wide, down the wings and put the ball in....
  22. I just don't get why he was so good with Poveda and now looks like he hasn't ever played football.....
  23. Nothing up front is the issue IMO and we need someone upfront as a target man.... However we have nothing and just turn backwards instead of putting the ball into areas...
  24. We have absolutely nothing upfront and IMO that is what we have missed all season... We have Ugbo and Lowe who can't make runs, hold up the ball or score from 2 foot from goal... Then Ugbo can't even cause any issues as is literally just ball watching and at least 5-10 seconds behind the game...
  25. It is like watching someone in slow motion, as is literally 4-5 seconds behind the game in real time...
