There are 27 possible permutations of the results from our, Birmingham and Plymouth games next week. Only one out of those 27 would result in our relegation - Birmingham and Plymouth win and we lose. Surely it can’t happen?

Wakefield owl replied to SheffWed's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
As ever we don’t really know who made the decisions on all the new signings. -

Obviously the nuances I am making are beyond your intellectual capacity. Sorry about that. -

At last an intelligent response with well made points. In some ways this is what I was saying our starting point was poor and we needed many good signings - I’m struggling to think of more than two. -

I actually said we would probably be slightly less poor. -

Didn’t say it was DM’s fault but he also not blameless. Is the abuse really necessary? -

Didn’t say and didn’t mean to say it’s all DM’s fault. I am saying we had loads to do for this season because we weren’t as good as some thought last season, in particular at the end of the season. -
Watching tonight’s game reminded me of last season’s away game against Forest Green. We couldn’t keep possession of the ball, we were devoid of ideas and never looked like scoring. Perhaps we should remember how poor we were during that bad run and we were also poor in two of the three play off games. We have carries that form into this season and the players we have signed are no better than the ones we had, arguably some of them are worse. If we still had DM I suspect we would not be much better off - maybe 4 points instead of 2.

Surely after tonight we ditch him. He quite clearly is nowhere near the level required for the Chamionship.

When fully fit, which wasn’t often enough. -
Because he’s a striker - would you have trusted anyone else more than him?

An away game to one of the best teams in our league? They may yet get automatic promotion. On paper it’s the hardest game we have left. Draw this and win 3 of the others would do it.

I’m a bit worried about that game. -
A draw would not be a bad result tomorrow.

Assuming we’re not paying him massive wages then has to a good deal for League One. -
BREAKING - CHANSIRI STATEMENT
Wakefield owl replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
If we go back to the selling of the ground this was done primarily for two reasons: 1 Avoid breaching FFP limits and therefore a points deduction 2 Improve our FFP three year average figures so that we could spend on players wages and transfers and remain competitive in the Championship. Then what has happened is that our administrative failings resulted in us not avoiding a points deduction and our Chairman decided not to spend money that he could have and remained within the FFP limit (I know it’s now P&S). Therefore we failed on both points in terms of the selling our ground - if we had not sold it then we would have had a points deduction and got relegated (probably in the 19-20 season) but still own our ground and not have the 30 year leasing of £2.5m hanging around our necks. So we are now worse off because we sold our ground and that could become a long term problem. -

It was actually a bit more basic than that - we just failed to have the paperwork in place by the required date. -

Doesn’t look like Cardiff have turned up today - easy win for Rotherham. -
I believe this is a big point - to me it’s the impact of Rhodes not playing on the performance of these two that hurts us the most.
