Why is everyone getting their knickers in a twist?
lukeyswfc replied to shandypants's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Everyone got pedantic after our bunch of players who lose every week did in fact continue to lose every week by losing to United. Im convinced if that third didn’t go in no one would have been bothered and everything would have been normal. United winning 3 in a row has got people worked up again that they’ll be a 2 league gap. Enjoy this period of fantasy, everything is possible and the Waltons are still on Looking forward to next Friday to see where we are at. Suspect it might go an extra week though. -
We may be on our arse but at least we're not Blades

The league is bonkers but they’ve won 3 in a row and barley moved. Has it ever been this tight before? -

An 8 though come on -
Sky putting zero effort into their reporting outside the top flight as usual.

Should not be losing games like that
lukeyswfc replied to fedupowl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
regardless of how poor the squad is the fact teams can score every corner they have really is embarrassing. Played really well outside of that, Preston were poor and scored three times. That’s an issue that we apparently cannot fix. -

Thought we played really well. The issue is they’ve not played well and scored two woeful corners and then allowed to waltz in and shoot for the third. Bailey should have made it 3-1 then it’s a different game but those are the moments in games we aren’t good at atm. Not a lot to say. We’re going to lose 30+ this season. -

I said to my mate at the time I wouldn’t be jumping up and down with that takeover. It screamed Chansiri. Get promoted in that first season, job done. They didn’t have a plan for if they failed. Season is wide open this year however, beat Leicester today and the playoffs gets closer and they may find money to revamp the squad. If they’re still 10 or so off in Jan though I suspect it’s more outs than ins -
Miserable weather, miserable team, week after £40 derby day tickets. Anyone know what the highest attendance at start of season was before the boycotts? Hope we beat that. Glad I chose grandstand today in this weather!

Snap - the game tomorrow is an after thought tbh. I’ll be happy with a goal! Keep the money rolling in, nice to be back these last few games and have a chat about the potentials of a takeover

Lowest Championship Points Total?
lukeyswfc replied to Gainsborough_Owl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I’m looking at the overall 2nd tier worst ever season which I think is Aston Villa 8 points. I don’t even think we clear that. -
I don’t know what changed tbh. Before we ousted him, everyone was largely expecting us to go down finishing bottom and not clearing 20 points. Then we ousted him and all of a sudden people expected us to start winning games and beat United then everyone got upset that we lost to United and went all doom and gloom. This season was a write off. We got the cancer out. Now we wait till the new owners come and see what life will be like. We will still finish bottom on less than 10 points. We should try to make it a party atmosphere and ignore what’s happening on the pitch for now. The season has been a success regardless.

They said that after their last 2 game winning streak. My mate text me at 0-0 to say it was humbling that the game was so even. ‘Only’ 10 off playoffs though - league is bonkers. -
4 points between 6th and 17th United only 10 away from 6th. Dont think the league is showing yet who’s capable of staying the distance. Bonkers closeness really this season, bar Cov.
-
You cannot be serious, right? You realise we are bottom of the league in administration, right?
-
It’s already been raised that if we one of the kids they take up a space in the squad and we cannot sign the final free agent. They’re there for emergencies and experience only.
-
Why does United 1 up against 10 men affect that?
-
Why?
-
A goal would be nice. 3-1 loss.

Cannon was a waste of space until Sunday now he’s lorded as a hero. Doesnt take much for them. Talk of them making the playoffs, how many points do we think 6th is getting? They’re on 13. Basically just under the usual “top 2 form” for them to reach 70 in the next 30 games at 1.9 ppg. Their owners looking for 20% less than a year later suggests it’s not looking good being out of the prem. Cant see them throwing money at it in Jan, might do 5 loan swap and then sell Hamer to fund whatever. -
Has the league ever been this wide open, bar Coventry, before? WBA down in 17th, 5 off playoffs. Ipswich suddenly 4th after starting poorly and Soton only 2 away from 6th. United fans still talking about playoffs, they need 1.8 a game I believe to hit 68, which was last seasons 6th.

Two seasons to get out of L1
lukeyswfc replied to crookesowl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
No point thinking about it yet. As it currently stands we will be on our way to League Two. Need to wait for the new owners first, then see what the EFL say, then wait till the summer to see what happens. -
No idea on his wages. Likely fairly decent so would need to accept less, can’t see him wanting to stick around tbh.
-
You’d hope we are allowed to sign 4 more loans, assuming Horvath goes back in Jan and Amass is allowed by Man U to stay. just to be competitive until the end of the season would be nice instead of conceding 2/3 every game.
