Owls v Sunderland Matchday Thread

Play well, miss chances, concede goals from woeful defending. Rinse, repeat. On to the next one. -
Penalty aside, his general contribution in games just doesn’t justify a start at the moment. Poor, perhaps closer to below average today. Smith must be fuming.
-
We’ve got to find a way to get him in some kind of form. He was a passenger today, seems half a yard off it. Even when you aren’t a goal threat, you can still have a nuisance value and that’s not even there. Feel almost sorry for him as I don’t think it is through lack of effort. Smith came on and with his first touch brought the ball down, held off a a defender and won a throw in up the pitch allowing us to get higher up the pitch, which we simply didn’t have with Ugbo.

Seemed well up for it. Kept trying to get the fans up. Seems to have surpassed Musaba at the moment.

Season tickets - next season prices
LoadABallacks replied to andypandy's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Won’t be renewing for the first time in about 25+ years, sadly. Whilst I still think Chansiri is taking the pee with prices and timings (although it should come as no surprise as it’s been the case for numerous years now), it’s the TV deal that’s done it for me. Managed to make yesterday, but the 12:30 kick offs have killed it for me. Think it was my 4th game yesterday. My lad plays football Saturday morning, so simply can’t make the logistics work to get back to Hillsborough in time. 3pm’s would be fine, in which case we’d be renewing. Think clubs may live to regret agreeing to this new TV deal, as I’d imagine there are others like me and attendances will likely suffer over time unless we can get to the Premier League. I’m fortunate enough that the cost isn’t prohibitive, but it will be for many. That being said, the thought of stumping up £60/£70 per game for a pay on the day is hardly appealing. Factor in the general faff of getting to and from Hillsborough and becomes difficult to justify for a family when it’s on TV most weeks. Longer term, you’ve then potentially lost another generation of fan, as much of being a fan that attends matches is that it is habitual and passed down from one generation to the next, or has certainly been the case for me over the years. -
If Danny goes who would you bring in

Some cash, Charles and bring in Mark Robins -
My lad plays football Saturday mornings and all these early kick offs has done me right over. Right waste of money on 2 season tickets. Sadly, the new TV deal means I’ll not end up renewing as I can only make Saturday afternoon kick offs.

Expectations this year
LoadABallacks replied to RealisticOWL's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Lower mid table and not being in a relegation dog fight. Despite the squad turnover, we can’t compete financially with other clubs, so barring a miracle, unless there’s a change of ownership that’s all we can hope for the foreseeable. -

What was with the corner flag incident?

He was so thick that he could have got away, but made a balls up by walking backwards into the goal with no way out -

The most beautiful football boots ever made?

I had every pair or Predators from '94 to '04. Skipped them until 2011 as they looked pants. The 2000 Precision and 2002 Mania's were the best ever for me. Had to be moulded with the white soles and red studs. Kept them all in good nick to find out my mum threw them all away when moving house. They're worth a fortune nowadays. -
Don't think I will be. Based on the 3 year season ticket prices, it will be an absolute minimum of £630 for me to renew, plus my lad. Likely to be more. I'm fortunate enough to be able to afford it, but not willing to due to not only the incompetence and discontent shown by the chairman towards his "customers", but also based on his most recent throwing toys out of the pram outburst, where he's said we have cashflow issues and are effectively close to bust unless he stumps up. On that basis, why would would I sink £££'s into a club that could go bust at any moment, along with my money. I'd certainly give some serious thought to buying a season ticket in cash. Perhaps a credit card would be a safer bet and paying off in full (if you can)

He’s utter bobbar. Wouldn’t even class him as league 1 standard.

Carraghers view on our badge

It's almost like the previous badge was way before it's time, as many companies try to simplify and modernise their logos nowadays. We went the other way. Quite apt. -
Season Tickets for next season
LoadABallacks replied to Spookone's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Below was the early bird prices for this season. The Multi year season tickets released worked out the same for 3 and 5 years. 3 year prices were £1380 (Kop), £1710 (North) , £1890 (South), which works out at £460, £570 and £630 respectively, which is roughly a 16.5% -17.75% increase for next season. Presumably, the 24/25 early bird prices will be more than the 3/5 year multi year tickets, so you could be looking at circa £500 for Kop. Bargain prices for league 1 football. -
Just sounds like a man sized toddler. Your not playing with my toys unless you're being nice. Sounds like he will fund and service the bare minimum to keep the club afloat, which is for his own interest, but nothing more i.e no new players etc. Unless someone stumps up to cash we're in limbo for the long haul. What he doesn't grasp is the more fans he pushes away, the less season tickets, food, shirts we sell, the more it's going to cost him in the long run to keep the club running and he not lose all his money.

There’s plenty of recent examples to go by.
