  1. Smart A*!, I rephrase .. when was the last time prior to these two?
  2. when was the last time Wednesday had two brothers on the pitch? ps frustrated and a little bored watching today’s game!
  3. My dad is 95 in May .. born 1930. We went to QPR at Loftus Road a couple of weeks ago… thoroughly enjoyable afternoon! He didn’t really start going to Hillsborogh until after the War .. late 1940s
  4. This was my first year of watching Wednesday .. I remember all the players well but have no context as to how good they were.. So it may be beginning of the season but we’re top and playing in “the finest club stadium in the land” per Mr Wostenholme. What went wrong between 1967, obviously a good team coming off cup final appearance and 2/3 seasons later when we go down?
  5. We went on an Owls bus from Pond St. took about 4 hours to get to London and another 4 hours to get through London to Selhurst Park! Only to then discover the game was on MOD (a very rare occurence).
  6. We were at School with your Dad. Remember him v well. Good footballer as well. Didn’t see so much of him after the Cornwall move, although we did bump into him at the Exeter promotion game in 1980! Much love and thoughts to you and your family.
  7. So we played our 5,000 game last night, Alan Finney was there who played 504 times for the Owls, over 10% of all games we ever played. Wondering how many games our most loyal (longest suffering) fan has seen??
  8. We went down to Hillsboro for pre-season training and got this photo with Wee Willie…I’m guessing c.1971-2
  9. A compliment for the ‘here to help’ staff at Wembley. I was with my Dad (a strikingly young 93 year old) and we’d completed a pretty challenging walk to our Block from the Wembley Stadium station. I saw someone being helped by one of the team in a wheelchair amd enquired if we could get help back to the Station after the game. They promptly put him in a chair, took him to our seats in Block 203. They then arranged to meet us at the end of the game and wheeled him back almost to the Stadium. A terrific young guy called Ryan, couldn’t have been more kind amd helpful. Fantastic day out with my daughter, son-in-law and Dad together with a number of Wednesday mates of 50+ years of friendship. UTO.
  10. Will the game be showing at Legends this afternoon?
  11. Even better … being on holiday in India and seeing a kid in a United shirt, quietly said “up the owls” as we walked past and his Dad told me to f..off
