Mate , please don’t mention Banno at a time like this . The thought of a player who actually knew how to stick it away on a regular basis . I could weep.

Kid has a blinder of a first half scores twice then gets given chance to get a hatrick and misses pen. A full scale enquiry and public apology by the club ? if ever a player needed the confidence of 2 goals it was him and now people are focusing on the one he missed Confidence boost totally nullified

I’m sorry but fans will not turn up week after week to see a team lose just out of sheer loyalty . It wouldnt happen at any club in any league The euphoria of seeing Chansiri kicked into touch is now wearing off a little Fans feel they’ve made their statement to prospective buyers Last Sundays experience has deflated a lot of the fanbase and then this week you learn that all the money you gifted for the good of the club can easily be rendered useless by some vape throwing moron . We desperately need another injection of really good news cos people are flagging and Dec 5 can’t come quick enough

Can this be pinned as the OMDT so we know what we’re doing ?

Was thinking same Lunchtime on a matchday and no one can be arsed It can only get worse I reckon Sunday has really flattened the mood good and proper

I think what needs knocking on the head once and for all is the fact that supporters will sit there and accept the team being beaten week after week without a whimper out of sheer loyalty It just isn’t natural You can’t expect fans to turn up in their thousands every home match and sing and chant when we’re getting our arses kicked The best you can hope for is that they still turn up but not get on the players backs. I said on here a couple of weeks ago that the derby would be the absolute test of our goodwill and patience and you can tell from the threads on here that it’s really starting to get to people I sat and watched on Sunday trying to tell myself ‘ it doesn’t really matter ‘ I mean actually WTF . It’s a derby match . We all know it’s about the bigger picture but anyone who wasn’t pained by Sundays experience needs to take up watching summat else Sorry if this isn’t actually relevant to this thread but I just needed to get it off my chest without starting another one

First Thing Out Of The Door Under The New Owners

Wonder what the conversations on here would be like if we’d battled and scraped a win on Sunday -
Exactly this . We were in the North working out how to get Sunderland at HT We were well on top and there was no way they could turn that round . What a sodding nightmare that second half . Its not Cannoville who comes to mind when I think of that match , it’s Mickey Thomas . God , I hated that little s**t . Horrible, nasty piece of work

The 1983 Fa-Cup Semi Final at Highbury
Ibbo48 replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Don’t know about that but I know this for sure We beat Arsenal at home one Saturday in the 80s and Chapman scored the winner I think. I was in Hanrahans that night and Lee was stood in the next stall to me in the gents It topped off the perfect day -

Thanks mate Im flattered to be named alongside such esteemed company . Sadly I’m rubbish with dates and scorelines I can remember incidents and players from the past but I’ve no in depth knowledge like a lot of the other guys who surface when there’s ‘ a blast from the past’ thread posted Unfortunately I’m pretty much housebound these days so as much as I’d love to be involved it just ain’t likely -

The 1983 Fa-Cup Semi Final at Highbury

Yep we ought to have had enough to beat Brighton but the Everton game was just as frustrating My abiding memory was of 2 brilliant days out ruined by the football . We had some great banter with the Everton fans in the pubs before the match at Villa Park . Always have had a lot of time for them since The Highbury match was on a lovely sunny day and a great atmosphere Everything was brilliant till we kicked off It was one of those days when you just knew it wasn’t going to happen and was a proper sickener -
Great answer It’d genuinely never occurred to me. Makes sense now

Yes. Always thought it bizarre Just why does he do that ? Strangely, in the Norwich match , they did exactly the same thing and put the ball into touch at exactly the same spot

Yes I agree Not only will team morale drop but also fan morale No one wants to criticise, cos we’re well aware of the dire situation, but it’s not natural for football supporters to sit there match after match seeing your team lose , knowing you’re going to get relegated , and just go ‘ oh yeah that’s just fine ‘ Cracks are soon going to show in our collective good mood about the club We all know it’s wrong, we all know we shouldn’t, but it’s hard for both the team and the fans to keep a brave face I think the derby match is going to test our resolve severely.

Is a football atmosphere that important?
Ibbo48 replied to WimJunk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Have I imagined this ? Wasnt there a period when we used to lose in front of a big crowd at home ? It was always ‘ typical Wednesday ‘ to do that. -
I think it was common knowledge at the time that he grew up supporting United. As he said last night, his big hero was Tony Currie . TBH Currie was different class at that time and United had a really exciting team.

I used to watch Rodger in the U18s when they played night matches at Hillsborough. He was absolutely outstanding and a prolific goalscorer . I was there the night he scored 4 ( maybe more) He was a bit like Peter Osgood in the way he moved i was convinced he’d play for England I had a Spurs fan mate I took to see the juniors one match and he said they had a youngster called Glenn Hoddle and he thought Rodger was in the same class . I remember writing to the Green Un and pleading for him to be given a chance in the first team as we were struggling for goals at the time ( nowt new ) and was amazed when he made his debut the following Saturday I loved him as a player and always followed his career Obviously, he never hit the heights that I anticipated
