  1. And I last watched (half of) a Premiership match in 2011, whilst hungover in the sports book area of Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. I remember because it was the same day Jordan Rhodes put four goals past us for Huddersfield, which would have been a much more entertaining match for them to have on.
  2. Bromley is the most important club in the world to Bromley fans. Who are you to tell them that you would rather job for Man City?
  3. It's because we aren't corpo brand shills.
  4. I must have missed all the signings since he left.
  5. Starting to think we might get relegated tbh
  6. JP McGovern, Chris Brunt and Steve MacLean. Awesome playoff final at Cardiff and missing my train home and having to call in sick and brazen it out. Mind the Gap and Huddersfield's as far as I know still ongoing unbeaten run. Kieran Lee being a class above. Darren Moore's 23 game unbeaten run and turning it around (twice!) at the last possible second. Interesting stadiums with character and soul where everything is slightly cheaper. Being ever so slightly removed from all the sportswashing and money laundering and obnoxious TV fans and tourists and other cancers of modern football. Cup runs with zero expectations about not getting turned over by Hartlepool. What's not to like?
  7. Some of my best Wednesday memories are in League 1.
  8. Existing is literally the point. That wasn't (and still isn't, tbh) a given. Assuming a takeover happens smoothly, it's going to take a herculean effort and a lot of investment even to return the club to the state it was in on the day Chansiri took over, ticking over as a middling Championship club. That's the only thing we need to worry about at present.
  9. Tbh I also feel like I'm reliving 10 years ago, when we were building nicely and steadily and improving year on year, but half the fans were getting overexcited that there was suddenly a bit of cash to spend and letting the new owner get away with murder, making excuses as he immediately binned off all his advisers, sacked the manager and let a literal child pick his replacement, and brought in the most batshit mental pricing structure imaginable.
  10. Plenty of 'future generations' are turning out for non-league sides all over the country so... yes? I'm sure any prospective owner, especially if it turns out to be some rich Yank or Middle Eastern war criminal, will be all about the HyperFranchiseMoneylaunderingBall, but Sheffield still having the football club that is part of the soul of the city is far more important.
  11. There isn't a new billionaire owner though. Just securing the club's existence for future generations to enjoy would be a massive win. Couldn't care less about the Premiership.
  12. They are trying to do a speedrun to shitty modern franchiseball without any of the redeeming features of heritage and roots in a local community.
  13. I mean, I'm all for actually having hot water in the stand and not weeing up a wall and stuff, but breastfeeding areas? How about don't bring a ******** tiny baby to a noisy football stadium, causing distress to it and all of the people around you to boot?
  14. Disagree. Womens football has already been completely taken over by men's professional football 'brands', pushing a lot of storied traditional clubs out. The women's game has been pre-strangled by artificial American Premier TV Moneyball before it ever had the chance to be anything interesting.
  15. They aren't actually part of the club. It's a local women's team that we allow to use our branding and donate kit to.
  16. We know where we are as a club, thanks to Chansiri. We are genuinely lucky to still have a club at all (assuming the takeover goes through without a hitch). We have a handful of Championship standard players, the best of which are well past their prime, and didn't even get a proper pre season. All we can do this year is make sure we stay in the Football League, try to make sure no one gets permanently hurt, and that we don't have to deal with further points deductions next year. After that we can worry about the massive rebuilding job required.
  17. The fan base literally just forced the owner to put the club into administration against his will by boycotting any spending. The fanbase also just rallied round after he was gone to ensure the club staff got paid on time. You are overreacting because we lost in a local derby where we were horribly outmatched in every way. This season is a write off. The handful of players we DO have are already showing the effects of no proper pre-season and being forced to play too many games, and the only reason to go is to help keep the home fires burning and show your support.
  18. Why? That's how you get seriously injured. All we need to do is fulfil our fixtures.
  19. It's not our lowest point, since 1.Chansiri is gone 2. It appears we are still very much a going concern, with multiple prospective buyer 3. There is actually hope for the future I wouldn't spend a second worrying about anything that happens on the pitch this season.
  20. It entirely depends on what our resources are after the takeover. But I would want to start with a completely new broom if possible. Pederson is the old regime.
  21. He must be cold, bless him.
  22. Looks fantastic. Right at the heart of the local community.
  23. Is Birmingham a tourist destination? Just a lot of brutalist concrete and race war and no one picking up the bins, isn't it? I think I've been there once, to go to St Andrews, in 2000-ish. Pablo Bonvin scored a wonder goal.
  24. The DNA that gets sprayed onto my DHGate Wednesday strip and only shows up under an ultraviolet light is nobody's business but my own.
  25. Correct. The EFL are concerned about making sure we can fulfil our fixtures for the rest of the season. They aren't trying to do us any favours.
