Potentially a new stadium,i really hope not
Brad_owl replied to BrianOwl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
This is the thinking i like. On this, isn't there an old train track that used to go into the city but to a different train station, i believe an old unused part ends near Owlerton. If so the infrastructure should already be there for a train to and from here. Caveat - Not a Sheffield native so my info might be rusty. -
Deduct a million points this season! The season is done. So long as next season is a new, fresh start then thats a great place to be.

Brad_owl replied to BrianOwl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Villa Park is a decent old ground but it is located in a really poor area. I can't say it makes me want to rush and spend a lot of time there personally no matter how well it has been redeveloped. Id like to see a new ground located with enough space to develop a "Owlerton Village" with shops, bars, restaurants, social football areas (like TOCA social) etc. We need some 10x thinking here for me.- 277 replies

You are limiting the club with this train of thought really. Spend £50/100m giving the old girl a glow up, and still hit revenues for 23 days a year. I can only surmise the people that don't want to move are because of selfish reasons. Ie the journey in is 10 minutes on the bus, or they are sentimental fans. No fan wishing the club to progress would want us to stay and throw money at a ground that is literally in a flood zone. I just cannot understand the argument to stay. Think bigger.- 277 replies

We HAVE to move if we want to reach the heights we are striving for. We are surrounded by a main road, houses and a river. Transport links are awful and parking even worse. The match day experience compared to other clubs and sports is as bad as I've experience. Go to a game at Man City or a similar sized European club like Hamburg SV for a game. Thinking even bigger go to an NFL game (Allegiant Stadium / Vegas Raiders was one I went to recently) and it will just blow your socks off. I work in Birmingham and the buzz created by the new complex being built is palpable. Even non fans are excited about the development. Generating money every day of the year is the aim and that's where we should also be shooting towards. Let's just move!- 277 replies

I honestly cannot believe that there is no space in the whole of Sheffield for a new stadium and complex. If there is no space then someone with deep pockets needs to buy up some land and existing businesses. In these hard times people will be looking to downsize / move / exit.

*checks if this is Sheffield Wednesday! Simple really isn't it. Looks after your "customers" and they look after you. Kudos to Kris and team.

You would hope anyone incoming would make the smaller creditors whole. Not only as a way to say thanks for sticking by the club in tougher times but also to promote a good working relationship hence forth. I don't see a world where that doesn't happen. Not as part of the actual takeover but maybe a goodwill payment afterwards.

I wonder if DC has ever sold anything in his life? I mean he is so bad at it. 10 confirmations of £50m after 2 weeks. Wow.

Matchday thread: SWFC v Southampton (A)

This newbie on The Talk doesn't phase an old boy like me. When he is dissing our Svan-tastic midfield dynamo I will call out such blasphemy. Obviously he doesn't remember Ronnie Waxwork!! -

I can't accept this. He is a cracking box to box midfielder, especially for our position. Enables Bannan to play his stuff. He workrate is phenomenal. His final ball could be better and he needs a goal or two adding to his game but he is not poor. Pelupessy / Ronnie Wallwork were poor CMs. Not our Svante. -
SWFC to trial new beer token payment process
Brad_owl replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Just get hospitality lads, beer waiting for you on your table at half time. Even get some food too. I don't know what your all moaning at. -
This would be a game changer! Even at 50%

I know who I would rather have up top in Lowe and Ugbo. Jamal Lowe is absolutely guff. Even the goal he scored away from home this season he was lucky it went in. So poor. Ugbo just needs to be putting an extra 20% into his effort, just not quite at it but small improvements over last games. Pairing them together is not good.

Remember this when some fans want Chansiri paying out his 25%. I'd flat refuse out of principle and whatever that means , so be it. Robbed of a generational talent.

Chansiri, the 25% and 15 point deduction

Keep me honest but if done before March it is this season I thought?? -

Brad_owl replied to RUMBELOWS91's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
We could pay a "payment of goodwill" to local creditors after takeover I'm sure. -
Does Ugbo not suffer from lack of service though. Get him the ball in the box then he is dangerous. Maybe we need a different player now but he is a finisher. Confidence is shot currently also.

I'm sorry, the way he treated us he deserves absolutely zero. If you turn down credible bids rumoured to be worth £100m then 6/12 months later you are here because of your own selfish, stubborn stupidity then, go fish!! AND in the meantime he sold off / give away the clubs assets to keep himself in the game. Take the -15 this season and pay him out zip. That 15m would help get our training facilities upgraded, improve the club / match day experience or discount season tickets for loyal fans. Some people have short memories if they believe he deserves anything back. Sell your house, no Channers, SELL YOURS MATE. -
He is doing an incredible job!!!!

I have been thinking about the need for an anthem for a long time. Great shout. Would need the supporters trust to help engage the masses. Pulp is a good shout but my musical tastes are questionable so il refrain from suggestions.
