  1. Newcastle detested him, now I’m not sure of all the ins and outs of why but he left the club in a state that the richest owners in the world seemed happy to take over. When you compare it to Chansiri, there is no comparison of what a bad owner is but through the noise of the media you’d think Mike Ashley was the worst owner in history and I’m not sure that’s fair. The way I see it from the outside looking in, he had Newcastle running as a very average PL club (something many of us would snatch the hands off for right now) and when they did slip out the PL he backed them well and got them back instantly (even having Rafa Benitez in the Championship). I personally won’t be turning my nose up, I’m open minded that Wednesday will be a L1 club next year so if he can pick us up here and leave us where he did Newcastle I won’t be complaining.
  2. I suspect the owners will want their own man and that’s completely understandable. I personally wouldn’t make a change through the season but in the summer I think it’s completely fine to start fresh.
  3. There’s good and bad with administration from our perspective. My biggest concern is that he owns the stadium and with his record of charging extortionate pricing I can see his last spiteful act being happy to force us away from Hillsborough.
  4. But it forces his hand, the logical thing is for us to enter administration. I know Chansiri isn’t known for logic but it has the ball rolling. Like I said, the process could be testing and uneasy as when you talk about administration there is always liquidation mentioned. Sheffield Wednesday will not die.
  5. Probably the closest we’ve been to the end of the Chansiri reign. Weirdly since the summer it’s almost felt like we are a club in administration without actually being in administration. Admin will be tough and testing for supporters, players and staff. It may get worse before it gets better but I have no doubt in ten years we could look back and see it as the best thing that happened to us.
  6. Weaver. Bannan has been class, but this lad has been thrown in out of absolutely nowhere and playing beyond comfortably at this level. I genuinely think we might be seeing the biggest talent to come out of our academy in the last 25 years.
  7. Got to take some firm action at some point, not looking like a sale is anywhere close and from what’s in the media it sounds like he’s clinging on until it’s taken from his grasp. It’s been 6 months on payment issues at this point, can’t just expect everyone to plod along whilst he waits for a magical money tree to appear.
  8. Whilst disappointing for Blackburn I think the EFL are in a difficult position and can’t really win in this position of deciding the result. Had Ipswich been winning 1-0 against ten men do I think Blackburn would be advocating for an Ipswich win? No, absolutely not. Games are supposed to be played over 90 minutes to determine a result and due to the weather that wasn’t possible. Was it likely Ipswich score in the final 10? No, but certainly not unheard of. I personally think my biggest gripe would be Jacob Greaves’ red card still standing. Utterly outrageous the game being deemed void that a suspension still stands.
  9. A game needs abandonment. The news is he’s clinging on, trying to scrape together whatever pay day loan he can so he can prolong his stat but with every new attempt to get money into the football club it’s just kicking the can down the road and further endangers Sheffield Wednesdays existence.
  10. I didn’t say as a starter necessarily. But with our predicament playing 40 times in one capacity or another is feasible and essential to his development in the long run
  11. Saw enough in the cup games to think we have a gem. For once looking at the bigger picture the best thing we can do is getting 40 plus games under his belt ready for League 1.
  12. 2nd time I’ve seen Weaver. Looks very a very good CB. Says a lot he’s trusted to play in the centre of a back 5.
  13. Can’t moan at Armstrong in our position. Sensible signing.
  14. Charles’ distribution is unbelievable
