  1. I believe a fee is usually paid to Sheffield and Hallamshire , if they clubs don’t want to play in the cup.
  2. Just seen that the Sheffield Wednesday u23 development team has been given bye in the 1st round of the Sheffield senior cup. Cant’t remember the last time they entered a team. A Barnsley u21 team have entered for the second year running.
  3. As per Stocky’s twitter feed We'll be facing Sheffield Wednesday this Friday, as detailed below. Please note the earlier than typical kick off time of 7pm, we don't want any of you to miss any of the game! Also please park responsibly around the ground.
  4. What Ian Richards Stocksbridge manager expects from the Wednesday XI .
  5. Fridays First Home Friendly. Sheffield Wednesday FC are our visitors on Friday 18th July. Kick off 7 00pm. Adult £8 Cons £5 Kids £3 Pay at the Gate Cash and Card. Many going and wonder what team they are bringing as is it says Wednesday XI?
  6. At least they look after their small band of supporters. Were decent from what I saw last year! Might interest some of you.
  7. I remember going on the kop and standing with all friends in the same place in came seating and everyone dispersed. Kinda fell out with football for a while. Still went every now again but never got the same feeling. After about 10 years I started to watch non league at Stocksbridge, and found the love again, mainly because I could watch the game from where I wanted to do, but also you could talk to oppostion supporters as well, although at times its got heated. Add that its cheap £80 for a season ticket £3 odd a game and £2 pint depends what you drink made everything seem resaonable. Even been away £7 on coach and thats to Whitby (fish n chips) and Blyth Spartans. Even though I still support Wednesday I can no longer afford it.But I still want to watch live football and give the ref my thoughts!!! Its not an alternative but a substitute just like methadone, not quite the same but still gives you the kick.
  8. Yes its Friday the 2nd of AUG my mistake. Due to the pitch being re laid and the drains put back it in its later this year than normal. probably will be mostly Under21s with the odd 1st team not involved on Saturday. Friday nights is a good night, plenty of beer and not getting up early in the morning
  9. Week after I believe but hey who knows. SPS now have 4 more games to play than last season, starting the same time, due to league expansion.
  10. The cost of Hawkeye is £250000 it will be in the Championship within 2 years and will go down to Conference level within 5 years since Conference have now got TV rghts with BT. Not sure after this but most NPL teams now film their games and with small multicams so wouldn't suprise me if its there within 10 years. lets hope the cost comes down though
  11. If anyone wants to help the PITCH IN campagain there is a golf tornamant if you follow the link above. Thanks.
  12. I know its early. But just trying to gather some info into how many will come to this match on the 4th Aug. Last year we had a fantastic support from both SWFC, Milan Mandaric and Dave Jones and of course all the supporters. Financially this really sets up the season for SPS and this year, we are having the pitch relaid (just like wembley). We have also raised £50000 and still a bit to raise for the pitches across the road and in total £250000 spent on the quality of pitches for both 1st team and youth football so we need your support more than ever. Thanks SPS http://www.stocksbridgeps.com/index.php#LeagueSchedule
