Judge would be a cracking signing and definitely one I want us to make, I just can't see it happening. If he is available around 6 mill then I see that as not a bad purchase given his age and potential. I know we got Fessi for much less than that but that really was a bargain.

Burnley vs The Owls. Official Matchday Thread.
AJowl replied to pauli's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I've watched the game via stream today and we have been by far the more dominating side. Not usually my favourite player, nuhui has been handy and the link up with forestieri has been great. The scoreline flatters them but we should have done better with a few of our chances. Massive improvement on the game against reading though. -

He just tweeted: BREAKING: Sheffield Wednesday have submitted a bid believed to be around £4 million for Chelsea's Patrick Bamford. 1/2 #swfc

I am in no way a madine lover and think he has looked out of his depth in our previous championship seasons however I was pretty impressed with his cameo appearance on Saturday, looked like he had that desire back and did exactly what was needed by being a target man and slowing down the game with posession. More importantly he stayed on his feet! Hope he keeps it up.

Antonio fee agreed - medical happening next

I think this would be good business for us, especially if we can bring in some decent players off the back of it. In all honesty Antonio frustrated me a lot of times last season, generally looks disinterested and didn't put the effort in that we needed a lot of the times. Am I right in remembering that he got pulled off before half time in one of the games cause he simply looked like he couldn't be arsed. I still appreciate all he contributed in the promotion season and I think he is a good player, but un-sellable... not at all. -

Which Wednesday player proved you most wrong?
AJowl replied to areNOTwhatTHEYseem's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Rodri - After his opening game vs Birmingham I actually walked away from that match thinking we had cracked it, we had managed to unearth a real gem. Still think he is a decent player to be honest, just not for us. -
Does this mean that Neil is going to start trolling the Carlisle forums instead? I think it's a good move, hopefully he shows good form and can be an asset next season but we'll see.

I would have Lavery and Best also. Best showed that he can consistently hold up play and win headers effectively on Tuesday, but needs a quick thinking / nippy striker alongside him. For me Lavery is the best fit, plus he has bags of desire / passion as well as confidence it seems.

I am not one to look for scapegoats but it was Helan's fault for losing track of bamford. Mattock clearly told him to stick with his man whilst he closed down the ball, and instead Helan decided to chase the ball and double up, everyone in the ground could see that as soon as he left the player free that they could open up the attack and that's exactly what happened. Still, it was a quality strike and unfortunately pretty much the only mistake we made all night.

Nobody mentioned yet another decent penalty shout dismessed, looked nailed on to me. Their defender lost sight of the ball and just clumsily brought best down

Assuming the match goes ahead tonight how is the car park faring? is it likely to make it? Injured myself playing footie at the weekend as was thinking of using the car park to reduce the walk back to the car

Maybe it was the Leeds game and he changed his mind out of pity for them...

sorry if popes feeling a bit iffy but I heard on the radio during the drive home that Sunderlands director of football has left the club ( http://www.safc.com/news/club-news/2014/january/sunderland-afc-statement ). Surely this is the guy we will have done the 'generous' deal on wickham with? leaves me less optimstic about our chances of keeping him till the end of the season.

I forgot just how chubby pressman was!

Stick it on a file host, I'd grab it, was a great match and would be nice to enjoy it even more without the sun in my eyes!

Players/Loanee's weve had with the biggest potential?
AJowl replied to Luke97531's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Rodri...... for one match. -
I'll be the first to admit it then, I did. He hadn't really got going and was looking fairly out of sorts. Fair enough he was out of position but it was first time I've seen him beat a man all season on Saturday,... But what a way to do it. Hopefully he continues to dominate the wing now.

I think that as a fanbase we simply have a lot of passionate fans who like to voice their opinions. It can certainly work both ways, and I do think it makes a massive difference to the players on the pitch. When the team are playing well and performing as we somewhat expect, you can see the players respond to this and go from strength to strength. I often think back to the Carlisle game in our promotion season, we were 1-1 and chasing united for promotion. As a crowd we knew we could do it, we could see the performances on the pitch and you just knew that a second goal was going to come, sure enough it did. On the flipside, the Yeovil game was so painful to watch. Players looked nervous from the off, we gave Yeovil too much space, and as soon as the fans got uneasy, so did the players. At half time I think everybody knew we werent going to win it, and this feeling spilled over onto the pitch. There was simply no fight. Asking for people not to react or voice thier impressions is not going to happen. As a crowd we react to what we see on the pitch, we regulary cheer players pressing play and creative runs... there just simply isn't enough of them at the moment.
-
I was about to start a similar thread. Why Jones won't play him is beyond me. He looks promising whenever he is on the pitch. Antonio simply isn't a striker, looked totally like he couldn't be arsed today.
-
That was quality, the kind of desire and urgency we needed at that point.

Don't see why, the court case isn't being discussed. It's common knowledge he has one.. merely stating it could be affecting him. Fair statement too.

didn't mccabe do enough last night to warrant a start? (genuine question as I didn't go!)
