  1. Look all in all Hobart has made some really good saves since he arrived and no he isn’t as good as we would like but he’s come in to do a job and all in all he’s done that. im still hugely disappointed how today’s game finished but not for the first time I find myself questioning Pedersen’s decision making. He has an ‘army’ of back room helpers but who have got the ball moving delightfully around the pitch but when these overstretched players start showing signs of fatigue WHY does he delay in bringing fresh legs on. I acknowledge that he’s had very little to play with but these lads are performing at pace ‘about time’ so need their manager to ‘step up’ when their tired legs look so obvious. The benched players are there for that reason so WHY DID HE NOT USE THEM UNTIL 80 mins into the game.
  2. While I wholeheartedly agree with you the football authorities must recognise that all football clubs have a number of complete and utter knob heads that spoil the game for everyone else.Often fueled by booze but more prevalent at derby type games where the tension amongst supporters is usually sky high. Also you get the idiots that want to appear ‘big’ in the eyes of their mates and do daft things with giving any thought to the consequences. I personally don’t think you’ll ever stop the totally brainless individuals from acting this way, it’s been going on for years but has been highlighted more recently especially with televised matches catching the actions of some sections of supporters. Its there for everyone to see and to get upset about but with increased security and modern CCTV surveillance equipment being used surely the clubs and authorities can make a significant impact to at least prevent this from spoiling the name of football in this country. I support name and shame with penalties that affect their pockets maybe they may think twice about being such a knob.
  3. Howsam is best known as the founder of Staysure, an insurance group specialising in senior travellers with pre-existing medical conditions. Therefore if and it’s a big if but if he was the successful bidder and became our new owner just think how so many of our senior members of our fanbase could benefit from cheaper travel insurance. A good number of ST holder in the South Stand could save hundreds of pounds if he put together a travel insurance policy linked to the purchase of next seasons ST’s. Roll on !!!
  4. Totally agree Big Jack - it’s a given that our new owners put in a football minded management structure and doesn’t get wrapped up in underminding the manager and stays out of the dressing room etc
  5. It was and while it sounds good to have a bidder that originates from the city I am still apprehensive that while he is based in Dubai can he play a major roll in the rebuild or would he revert to our previous owners method of control and management done from afar via zoom. If he intended to install a football experienced boardroom the he could be a perfect fit. The administrators will no doubt select the best to take us forward and out of the doldrums.
  6. Just worked with a large Spanish construction contractor on a new power station and they were a breath of fresh air to work for. They did a great job, within budget and within all time scales (to programme) They also have history and experience of building sports stadiums so would definitely recommend them to build a new stadium for SWFC in the future.
  7. Living in Bolton I have met Sam on many occasions and before he took the Bolton job he had served his apprenticeship in Ireland and I think it was Notts County. Great bloke , went into business with Roy Greaves (also a ex Bolton player) but now at 71 I can’t see him being remotely interested in SWFC but you never know as money talks ! When he had his successful run with Bolton he was very ambitious and put together an absolutely brilliant side but to be fair he attracted the majority who were coming to the end of their contracts and by offering them big wages.he attracted them to BWFC new stadium and all. Unfortunately they too had a corrupt chairman and hangers on who robbed the club and didn’t want to know when they hit a lean spell. We all know the rest as they ended up in a similar position to us. Sam is similar to Peter Reed, he’s old school and is better off applying his tales off yesteryear to the ‘after dinner’ circuit. We need a manager that has a great reputation and knows he can attract players who want to play for him, regretfully Big Sam only knows players that are now well retired or apply their trade in the Middle Eastern leagues.
  8. Player - Ugbo Club - Sheffield Wednesday Skill -1 awareness - 0 Movement - 0 Heading Ability -1 Shooting Ability - 0 1sr Touch Ability - 0 Contribution in Games - 0 All marks out of 10 Conclusion - Stealing a wage and possesses a ‘couldn’t care less attitude better suited to A lower league outside EFL All in all - should not be anywhere near a Championship side.
  9. I know we’re questioning HP and after todays performance in a ‘Steel City’ derby where at least half the team lacked passion to come out of the game with their heads held high I believe he, along with his coaching staff need to drop the ‘good guy’ front and show the supporters that they do a least know the basic principals of football - you need to score to win.
  10. It does beg the question- what are Pedersen’s coaches doing with our forwards every day during their training sessions. They certainly aren’t training them to get into a scoring position, control the ball, maybe beat an opponent’s and SHOOT. So our attack minded coaches must take some of the blame.
  11. Utter embarrassing, stealing a wage On his current form and contribution to the team he would struggle in the Northern. League. i was told forwards try to score goals so that their team have a chance of winning which let’s face it is the main aim of football.
  12. Iorfa was woeful today but let’s face it - he is a crash waiting to happen. His back and side passing are pure amateurish, when he heads the ball it never ends up with on of his team mates and for a defender he has no vision to put a good forward pass together The guy at the side of me said if he was a horse they would ask the vet to put him out of his misery. Surely we need better
  13. I have followed football for a long, long time yet it amazes me the amount of time that fit, young players take to get over injuries - now obviously I realize that if a player has a cartledge problem or similar they do take time to heal and then some extra time to get match fit, however, it does seem nowadays that every player that picks up an injury are out for weeks and weeks. As the poster has enquired I too would welcome an update on our injured players as we will need as many fit players as possible over the next few weeks.
  14. I’ve been having a bit of trouble with my tv and couldn’t get some of the channels despite trying all the resets. So, asked a guy I know that knows a bit about televisions if he would pop round this morning. He sorted the problem out and fitted a new receiver and the picture is now brilliant. However, when it came to ask him how much I owed him he said nothing but put the money to Sheffield Wednesday to help pay the wages. Despite telling him that they were now covered until the end of Jan his reply was really heartwarming - he said he had always liked Barry Bannan who played for a short time with Bolton Wanderers and after seeing his wonder goal last week he said he thought Barry was still one of the great players outside the Premiership that he really enjoyed watching and epitomizes what he likes in a good footballer. i thought that was great coming from a very staunch Bolton supporter so when I come to the Derby game I’m going to donate £50 to the club as instructed by Phil my tv repair man. A Great Gesture from a Wanderers fan.
  15. With this in mind why doesn’t the EFL relax their regulations that all creditors should receive a minimum of 25% and effectively give the ‘con man’ nothing - zero. Surely there should be enough evidence that he was not paying the debts owed to other clubs etc. so why should he benefit from his total mismanagement. If the EFL took this action then Legitimate creditors could benefit from more than 25%. im sure there are 30,000 fans and indeed a few creditors that would welcome this stance and if the EFL flexed their muscles and powers it would show other unscrupulous owners that they and the new regulators mean business.
