  1. If you look closely, you’ll notice a lot of minor variations used in different places over the years – the lines have sometimes been thicker or thinner, the eyes are separated or touching, etc. The original would have been done on a drawing board with pencil and paper and it’s probably been digitised multiple times with the technology of the day. I’m not sure the very common version you see on the net with the square corner under the foot was ever even official, it might be a fan repro. The official ones usually have a rounded corner there. The thin line might be intentional, but it also looks like the kind of artefact you sometimes get from using Adobe Illustrator’s auto-trace feature to create a vector image from a low quality bitmap, so who knows.
  2. Next best thing, he sourced his running gear in the Kevin’s Shorts thread.
  3. They practised every time his name appeared on the score sheet.
  4. We lost 4 – 0 at Huddersfield in February. Only 6 months later, and we’re losing 4 – 0 against a whole other stratosphere of team. That’s progress.
  5. From the EFL handbook: But this is an important point: So, McNeill will be counted as under 21 all season, even though he turns 21 in September, and doesn’t count toward the 25. But Beadle is counted in the 25, even though he only turned 20 this week, because he’s on loan. As would any other “young Premier League players on loan” people have been wish-listing. Still leaves 4 slots currently.
  6. We had 2 points when Röhl came in. We finished the season only 9 points behind 12th. And 11th, for that matter. I’m not expecting the play-offs, but 12th would be disappointing season. His players, a proper preseason and 46 games? Top 10 has to be the target.
  7. According to this, Troyes currently don’t know which division they’ll be playing in: https://sports.yahoo.com/ajaccio-provisionally-demoted-national-city-082400641.html That can’t help to resolve Ugbo’s situation quickly.
  8. Defiance by the Don
  9. I don’t think it makes any difference. Whether we spend at the beginning of June or the end of August, it all appears in the accounts the following May. That’s all they base it on – if you’re in the Championship and the average loss over the last 3 years was >£13m, you’ve broken the rules. There are higher limits for clubs relegated from the Prem in the last 3 years, but nothing for clubs promoted from League One.
  10. Can’t rule Barnsley out, it’s in their hands. But besides Derby, they’re been on a great run against poor opposition – Accrington, Oxford, Cambridge, Vale, Cheltenham. They were well beaten by Charlton and Bolton right before that, so it would be a real achievement to repeat that form in March (Portsmouth, Plymouth, Wycombe, Ipswich and us).
  11. Just last week he said “I still believe I’ll get this football club out of this league.” Looks like their chairman was afraid he might be right.
