Another very tidy composed finish. Yes, people can say Scottish football is poor but they're playing in Champions League qualifiers and he's looked a cut above against Panathinaikos and now Plzen. Absolutely criminal the way Chansiri has let this play out. He's worth way more than we let him go for. In a parallel universe, under a competent owner, we'd have been building a promotion winning team around this guy.

Another cracking goal. Feel like pure shyte, just want Djeidi back.

He was just holding that up so they could, presumably, also put it on the club website. The interview was by Rob Staton on Radio Sheffield.

Well Chris Waddle is one of the pundits... Unfortunately it'll be Sam Matterface commentating, so I might watch the actual match on Sky. But I think ITV are getting some unfair comments in here. They're nowhere near as bad as they used to be. I'm expecting a pretty even pre match discussion about both teams.

Do any other teams' chairman/owner insist on being in the team photo?
-
Because it deflected off a Boro defender before it hit Windass.
-
Because the ball wasn't in play.

I mean, we were ridiculed for getting supporters to come and paint the steps a few years ago. How exactly do you think an idea such as this would go down with the wider public?
-
One thing that impressed me about Gassama today was that he tracked back often and won the ball with good tackles, getting us on the attack again.
-
Yes, looks awful above the players names. All back of shirt sponsors look bad but under the number would be slightly more bearable.
-
Did you also realise his name's Djeidi, not Deiji?

Don't think Sky have used it for that for a few years now. Understandably so, given how structurally unsound it is. We can't have it collapsing with David Prutton and Clinton Morrison on there. Not sure what Sky's plans will be this season but most EFL games were presented from the regular studio last season. When they're on site, eg. the Peterborough play-off semi the season before last, they had a temporary platform underneath the scoreboard.

He's on with Lescott and Aluko again for Slovenia v Serbia. For Poland v Austria he's with Lescott and Carney. And for Türkiye v Portugal it's Aluko and Neville.

Danny Röhl to be on ITV as a pundit for the Euros
Polar replied to gypsyowl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
It seems Danny is going to be quite well used by ITV. Certainly in the first week of the tournament anyway. Confirmed appearances so far.. Belgium v Slovakia 17/6 17:00 Croatia v Albania 19/6 14:00 Slovenia v Serbia 20/6 14:00 Poland v Austria 21/6 17:00 And not on the one Germany group game ITV have, as many thought. This is the first game of the tournament though and is against Scotland, so I can see why ITV want their A team on it. Source: ITV Press Centre -
Danny Röhl to be on ITV as a pundit for the Euros
Polar replied to gypsyowl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Playing the game at the highest level is not necessarily a qualification for, nor a guarantee of, being an engaging or insightful pundit. There are countless examples where that isn't the case. Wayne Rooney, Joe Cole, Rio Ferdinand to name just three. They're there because of who they are, not because they're good at their jobs. Are all women pundits great? No. I definitely agree that Eni Aluko is pretty poor. But I don't see a problem in making the game as inclusive as possible. Women's football has never been more popular and there is no reason why women can't comment with authority on the men's game. -

Normally, I'd agree but the BBC punditry lineup is woeful. Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard are all dire. -
Yep, they're the confirmed games. No red button games on Sky but iFollow is an option for a tenner or, erm, by other means.
-
It will. They're still being streamed via ifollow (and the other in-house services that some clubs have) for international viewers.

Don't. I still have nightmares about that dark period of our history when Pulis was in charge.

Commentators for the match on sky
Polar replied to TouchIsGolden's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Alright, Joey. Robyn Cowen is an experienced football commentator. Not some "random bird". I agree that Rehanne Skinner was a more than a bit monotone and didn't really add much but I haven't heard her on co-commentary before, so she's probably new to it. It was hardly a high profile game, so understandable that they try out new people on it. There are plenty of poor male commentators, co-commentators and pundits around. Gender really shouldn't be an issue in 2024. And for all the people who bleat about women not having played "at the highest level". There are plenty of successful male football managers who fit that bill and it didnt affect their ability to do their job. -

Wasn't it Hansi Flick? Robyn Cowen obviously didn't get the memo that he was in atrendance. -
Commentators for the match on sky

I don't think they were there tbh. I think all Sky Sports Red Button commentaries are done "off tube" remotely. I know this was on Sky Sports Action but it was a red button game in all aspects of presentation. It always sounds a bit detached in those circumstances. I think Robyn Cowen is fine as a commentator. Rehanne Skinner, on co-comms, sounded bored and disinterested though but no more than Lee Dixon does on England games. -
The Coventry commentator was awful. The way he referred to them as the Sky Blues every 5 seconds really grated. Also insisted on calling Bernard Barnard, despite Steve Ogrizovic subtlety trying to correct him.
