Potentially a new stadium,i really hope not
El Wednesday replied to BrianOwl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Interestingly, Real Zaragoza are also currently bottom in the 2nd tier. -
Wembley of the North no more

Well, we really should have an official women's team! It's another no-brainer. -
Wembley of the North no more
El Wednesday replied to HarrowbyOwl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Whilst we're on the subject, I'd love to see our new owners invest some proper backing into our women's team. No reason why we couldn't have top flight SWFC females. -
Sterland?

Lowest Championship Points Total?
El Wednesday replied to Gainsborough_Owl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
At this rate we might be officially relegated in February. -
Takes me about half an hour to walk to the ground nowadays. But I used to live in Manchester and Leeds, and got the train over for games on the weekends. Yeah, it would be a nice convenience to stay local to Hillsborough, but I'm more than willing to travel a bit further afield if it means SWFC have been finally dragged into the 21st century.
-
If people can't be ar5ed to walk more than 10-15 minutes to a game, then they really don't deserve a successful SWFC.

Annoying things about modern football and Sunday.

OMG yes, this! -
QPR have one of the best traditional away kits in football (the Dennis the Menace black and red hoops), dunno why they ever deviate from it.

First Thing Out Of The Door Under The New Owners
El Wednesday replied to keefdave's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
As much as I love to reminisce about the '90s, young fans (like my 9yo lad) really don't give a sh*t about it, they only want to look forward. -
BTW, I've just realised there's already a New Manager thread. Apologies!
-
Big Jack did... This isn't a slight against Pedersen, it's just what new owners tend to do, happened here with Stuart Gray who was doing a very good job. Part of a stamping their ownership on a club and making a fresh start. I'd like to think they'd employ a Director of Football with some good ideas on managerial options.
-
Who's going to be the manager? I strongly suspect the new owners won't be keeping Pedersen.

Blunts fans are absolutely terrified of us getting a new stadium. It would totally transform our club and leave them in the dust. -
If our new owner doesn't immediately make this our official club badge, then I know we've got another moron in charge.

The 'soulless bowl' new ground debate
El Wednesday replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
A bit of creative seating arrangment goes a long way, too. Certainly better than the owner's name -

Maybe our new owners will be happy to splash the cash? A stadium is the ultimate legacy. We can at least dream for the next few weeks, eh? -

Yeah, I mentioned this on another thread a few weeks back. It's a good one. Zaragoza not dissimilar to Wednesday in terms of size/recent underachievement, too. -

That's exactly why I like it, too. -

How much does the new SWFC owner need?
El Wednesday replied to YesWeCrann's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Basically, we need to copy the Brighton model. Be interesting to know how much they spent. -
Yorath getting that side to a League Cup semi-final was one of the weirdest things to ever happen at SWFC (on the pitch, at least).
-
All the managers who worked under Ch**siri's Flying Circus have a certain sense of leeway. For me - and he doesn't have the above excuse - Alan Irvine was by far the worst.
-
I was thinking the same. Be great to get 2 or 3 Prem youngsters of the quality of Amass bedded in, but only if we had the option of extending their loans next season.
