One group wanted to merge with our neighbour’s!!??
theowlsman replied to Bloxwich Owl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Just read an article in The Star and United's problems are already starting. The owners have been quick to issue a statement reiterating their committment to United, so are already worried about making an error of judgement, but painting over their enquiry about us. Plus they mention "targetted arrivals" to placate the Blades fans. Those able to read between the lines know that "targetted arrivals" means they don't have much money to spend. Wednesday have had a lucky escape. -

They're already a set of Mary Ellens. Goodnight Jim Bob -
A good question but lets ignore it and talk about breakfast clubs instead.

I'm hearing that my earlier comment has upset a few Blades fans on the other side. They shouldn't get annoyed that their owners were interested in us as the bigger, better, and more famous club. They should be happy that they secured their new owners with their spending capability before we became available as the more attractive option. -

It's not about a merger though is it? It's about potential buyers realising they bought the wrong club, that there was a bigger and better one just down the road. It was a Bullseye moment. This is what you could've won. It means United are now in trouble. Have a fans v ownership crisis coming up. Their owners preferred Wednesday whilst not spending on United. I reckon what they really wanted to do if they could was to buy us and sell United but there isn't enough time, so they're stuck with the other lot. -
Potentially a new stadium,i really hope not

The iconic Kop was ruined by the roof too. Getting wet was part of the fun. It's the reason I haven't visited since 1967. -
Players had a chance to thank the fans on Sunday

Dave. Have you been on the pop? I can't see the point of moaning or criticizing under present circumstances. Let's just get the new owner in, rebuild, get a new squad, and be ready for next season's promotion push to get back in the Championship. -
More formal bids expected at SWFC today
theowlsman replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
The Waltons are definitely not one of the bidders said KW. Two words... Not yet. We were waiting on someone weren't we? And in the background someone was checking out the possibility of building a new stadium weren't they? Which might have a bearing on any offer possibly? Thought I'd just join in the fun and speculation. -
Mr Blobby. Couldn't be arsed to dress up for a football match.

I'm pretty much in the sentimentalist yet realist camp. Love the old girl but realise that if we're getting new owners who might be seriously loaded, and have ambitions for Wednesday to regain our place in the Premier League, then we need to move forward rather than look back. -
Mike Ashley in coming, along with....

Makes what is now an infrequent visit to OT, sees nothing has changed, so slopes off again to wait until we know who the new buyer is. You're all mental. -
We have bidders who have the dosh to build a State of the Art new stadium fit for the 21st century? And we want to stay where we are? Not passing comment other than to say you have to move forwards when the opportunity arises and not look back.

We'll be there soon darling.

Exactly. And to add to that, no criticising of players or performances under the present circumstances. They're doing fantastic given the bum deal they were given by Chansiri.

I'm still keeping out of all the speculation until the administrators have done their jobs and selected a buyer. They know what they're doing and are doing a fine job of it so far. Just let them get on with it and be patient.

Is he in with a chance of Manager of the Month though?

Very emotional and very proud. They worked their socks off today. We're getting our Wednesday back. It's really happening isn't it? Well done today both players and fans. That's me done. Tearing up.

This site would be much better if instead of jumping the gun, they jumped on a gun.

Come on lads, bring the humour back, let's get the Owlstalk of old going again.

To be fair all these multi millionaires and billionaires are starting to wind me up too. It's all I'm hearing about now and I know that when we sign Harry Kane his goals will dry up.

Closet Wednesday fan. Been trying to get his nose in through the door for years. Shouldn't have had such a big nose.

They need to sell some Chansiri hanging from the gallows merchandise in the shop. Would make a fortune. -
