I read that as well - best start since 1996 and we were top of the Premier League! I don't think we should get carried away though. Five games in and all the away games have been close shaves. We will be able to get a very decent assessment at 12 games or more.

Very tricky away games though. Places where we normally struggle. Hopefully win the remaining games in September (at least two of which are tricky) and we'll be in a fantastic position.

Yes, there are another 41 games to go, so nothing gained yet really except maybe a bit of pride and we all know what can come after that.

I think we can enjoy it for now at least and most of us are not going to get too giddy just yet. Wednesday do have a knack for making things difficult dont they. It is just great to see us up there, especially after last season, although a bit like Hull in the prem, you do realiise that it could change a lot and very quickly too if our injuries keep piling up!

For now though we are top of the league, we have been entertained, seen some battling performances and can hopefully get a decent run going for when we do hit a bad patch.

UTO!

Considering the squad was expected to take time to gel I don't think there were many that could have expected such a good points haul straight away.

We just need to remain patient as and when the inevitable blip does arrive, HP still has a huge amount of credit in the bank and the start to the season should only have added to that.

Wonderful start to the season and something of a surprise.

I still feel we’re very much a work in progress, so it’s a massive bonus to be in this position right now.

Well done to all involved.

ATM I'm only looking towards getting enough points to secure survival, then I will move on to play off spots and then the possibility of top 2.

However that's not taking away from the good start we have had. Well done to everyone who has been involved to allow us to get here.

What do you mean "nothing gained yet"......do we not get 12 points for winning those 4 games

FFS the EFL won't leave us alone will they.....ok, they decided not to give us the minus 15 at the start of the season but now we don't get 3 points for a win?

Wise words. If the results hadn't gone our way and we maybe had 6 points rather than 12, the voices calling for his removal would have been louder than ever. I still anticipate that we'll lose a few games and drop points in some of those scrappy games in the next month or two, but as you say he's hopefully now generated enough goodwill to ride that out

Yes but, yes but, Richie Humphreys, yes but, yes but, easy opponents, yes but, yes but, can't give him any credit...
