David Storch is preparing to arrive back in England and has an admission of everything he has learned this summer.

I must have missed this, but it clarifies the figure the EFL have imposed as part of the financial protocol/plan. And it's low, isn't it?

It leaves Wednesday able to spend only 65 per cent of the revenue generated this season under the EFL’s salary cost management protocol (SCMP) as a relegated club.
 

I thought it was 85% for relegated clubs in the first season

I knew about the £2m limit but what I’m not sure about is what happens if we get to the championship next summer.  You would hope that some adjustment is made to the £2m figure given we will naturally be bringing in more income, and would need a bigger budget to make a competitive squad.

Great article. The £2 million cap on transfer and loan fees, regardless of sales, is a bit of a joke really. It's basically saying "we don't want you to be that good just yet".

That's a great article and I'd hope a large chunk of our fans read it and appreciate the sheer size of the task ahead.

 

This is not some quick rebuild - it's a savage job.

 

I respect the fact they're not all claiming it's promotion or bust this season. We are very much in the laying new foundations stage.

All about the EFL and their optics.

 

We didn't get another point deduction so they have to be seen to do something.

 

Appreciate we couldn't come out of admin and simply start sending freely, but to impose a non negotiable cap, regardless of player sales, is a tad ridiculous imho.

It's good to hear that the club are being realistic about the chances of a relatively slow start to the season.

 

I think most sensible fans have said similar, but there are a vocal minority who seem hell-bent on using any stick they can to beat Pedersen with.

HP will need a decent start.

 

Not amazing, but enough for fans to buy in.

 

It's tough, as we are in quite a unique situation for any professional football club. A few early wins in the league will do him the world of good though.

 

Think it's also important to note there is always going to be that element on social media who hate everything.

All the information on the limits to fees and wages for two years is interesting. I don’t think it is any coincidence that Storch talks about getting promoted in the next two seasons rather than looking for an immediate return. It would arguably suit us better as a club to arrive back in the Championship when we no longer have the restrictions limiting how we build the squad.

Exactly this. And that for me includes folk bleating about the ticket prices and NS in the North Stand
