First things first what a foolish thing from Xavier Simons to do, but what impressed me today was the reaction from our players, young Jarvis, Swinkles, Max Lowe, Gabe, Slattery, Baz, infact pretty much the entire team straight over defending Harry and showing abit, then straight on the ref to get a decision made, good to see some bite

Yep.  And Gray seemed to get thumped in his the chest to me, but stayed down holding his head.

Thing is, it had the opposite effect on me as it always does, regardless of the team doing it. I absolutely hate the fact players are still allowed to get in the ref's face.

 

But it appears to be accepted now. The FA were supposed to stamp it out. I guess we will just keep showing kids they can do that to the ref in junior football, even though some of them are kids as well.

 

If you can't beat 'em join 'em I suppose and we'll all end up like Argentina.

It’s not great but we’ve had it done to us before but I’ve never seen us do it effectively until today.

I really don't get why Simons did what he did. A clear pull by Gray all day long, but the reaction was completely disproportionate. The game really didn't have any needle up to that point, and not a whole lot after.

My first thought was “what a bizarre reaction to having your shirt pulled”…. Usually players tend to only throw punches if they’ve been on the receiving end of a nasty tackle or something like that.

 

That said, good to see the other players backing Gray up.

And this is what i think i was trying to get at, for years we have had it done to us, we have been to honest and nice, I think you need a certain dressing room for that kind of thing, had it about 10 years ago but not seen it enough since.
