prowl Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Fans moaning about getting rid of Pedersen are wasting their time. The Sporting Director isn't going to get rid of him because some fans want a change. The fact that last season was dreadful has no impact on his thinking, he has already considered that and still gave him the job. Likewise losing preseason games is totally unimportant, they aren't about winning, they are about fitness and experimentation. 2 1 2
Blue and white Posted August 8 Posted August 8 It does actually, last season whilst completely off the scale he still manged to under perform and while we were never going to finish anywhere else other than bottom of the league, 2 wins all season was absolutely dire. His record as a manager/head coach is terrible, his record as an assistant isn't bad tbf. He's incredibly fortunate to have been given the opportunity this season and it boils down to nothing more than misplaced good will for taking the job on when Danny boy jumped ship, in truth it wasn't like he had many better options and taking us on last season, whilst a thankless job at the time, he was absolutely nailed on not to get the sack and highly likely to be given a crack this season thus giving him a decent amount of work above his level for doing nothing more than being in the right place at the right time and taking advantage of a situation that was presented to him. Still happy to be proved wrong but by nature I'm just pragmatic and don't see it. I have all the time in the world for the new owners, the players, the job that needs to be done, I appreciate we are working under incredibly restrictive rules but I'll stand hanging if HP gets us promoted. 2 4

Right; if you want to maintain that point, then let’s agree that’s in the past and that he’s our manager now and that he’s our board’s choice; that we need to calm down and see how things pan out. 2 2 2

Nobody wants Pedersen to fail, but we ARE entitled to criticise tactics and performances. It is a football forum after all. 1 2 8

Yes, some I think are crap, some I over egg in how good they are. But... Why the hell would you want anyone or anything associated with Wednesday to not succeed? If I'm wrong about a player I thought was poo I love it and sing their name just as loud if not louder because of it! I have never wished Wednesday or anything associated with Wednesday to fail because if they do it is impacting Wednesday and therefore me directly. * Huge caveat * the previous owner i did not consider to be Wednesday in any such way post 2016 play offs. ** Yes I can accept failure for Wednesday. For what it's worth I think keeping him on was the only thing Storch et al got wrong, he should have gone when they came in, for me it was a huge missed opportunity with all the excitement and optimism of the takeover and the end of a 10 year nightmare, this is the last issue that divides the fan base, there are those who believe he should be given a chance and there are those that don't and sadly it will roll on until he's gone, it feels like a dead man walking and every poor performance or loss will create more ill feeling. 3
