Wrong forum

I know this is the wrong forum, and I'm now increadibly drunk.

 

My dad, a lifelong owl has just suffered a massive stroke.

I can't cope.  He's had a season ticket so long that his ID number has one digit less then mine and I'm only 40 years younger then him.

 

I am distraught and don't know what to do or where to go, and to be quite honest I'm absolutely at my wits end.

 

I'm crying sending this, knowing my dad has now seen his last game at Hillsborough, before a ball has been kicked.

 

It's taken me nearly 30 minutes to check this for spelling mistakes because my eyes are full of tears.

So sorry to read this and I can't imagine how you are feeling. Sending thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

He had the first ever season ticket that Wedneday did, but he was cheeky with it, he used to walk around and site behind each goal depending on which way Wednesday were kicking - you've not been able to do that for nearly 50 years.

Easy to say and I know it sounds crass but try to calm down

 

My daughter is a senior paramedic and has seen many stroke sufferers that seemed catastrophic but didn't turn out that way - thankfully

 

Everything possible will be done for your dad

Guys, and girls - I've drunk far too much and need to go to bed.  

I should not have done so, I have kids to think about, and my wife has scolded me.   That said, the PM's have given me a little solace, as have the replies.   

My dad is a good man, he has many stories I am sure a lot of you would like to hear.   I just hope I get a change for him to recount them to me again, but I fear not.

It's O.K you don't need to apologise, you'll handle it in whatever way you need to handle it, there is no right way or wrong way.

Wishing you and your dad all the hope  and prayers i can give  be brave young fella you dad would want you too  and this is never the wrong forum when things like this happen , we are wednesday we are owlstalk , we never walkaway from our own ,    if it wasn't for owlstalk i was very close to not being here  very close and it was owlstalkers that pulled me through , i am still grieving , but i know people on here have always got your back , and that counts for everything ,  god bless you and your dad and family Dave ,and you have done right by reaching out ,we care

You'll probably have to phone the club and take it from there, they'll point you in the right direction.

Clearly you are suffering and nothing I can say will change that. But I can at least offer you the perspective that my dad has had multiple strokes in recent years, including one larger episode, and still continues to manfully go about his business. He's not 100% for sure, but for the most part he is doing well and insists on doing as much as he can. Even did some tiling in the bathroom not long ago. Obviously I don't know the details of your situation, but don't assume the worst.

 

And don't feel awkward about putting it out there on a football forum. We all understand and we all empathise. WAWAW.

There's an email address that I used when my dad died, they were brilliant, but afraid my email on my phone has erased it from my stored messages 

 

It doesn't necessarily mean the end of seeing Wednesday or the journey. My old man had heart attacks on 5 separate occasions, 2 strokes and Wednesday are still the thing that wound him up more than anything else
