Ibbo48 Posted November 14 Posted November 14 Is it cos ‘ alder shot ‘ means ‘ terrible shot ‘ in an obscure foreign language ? 1
torryowl Posted November 14 Posted November 14 Saw our biggest away win (I think) there ,tommy mac was manager and we signed Walden from them is about the connection I can think of .
REDOWL Posted November 14 Posted November 14 Could the answer be in this, although the information is from twenty years ago.

That's it, our biggest ever away win (also our biggest LC win). Weird thing is we'd drawn the home leg 0-0 so they must have fancied their chances! Edited November 14 by Utah Owl

Got those the wrong way round really... 1 1

matthefish2002 Posted November 18 Posted November 18 I can remember the home leg and was a really rubbish game in front of a small crowd. Can remember being amazed when heard about the 8-0 win. I don't think the local radio would have done a commentary on the away leg, was probably only Paul Thompson there for the Sheffield press.
nethertonowl Posted November 27 Posted November 27 I went to that one. If my old memory is correct I was stood on the side out of shot on the right of that photo. At the end of the game I picked up a conker on the terracing and used to take it with me for good luck at away games.

Didn't bloody work that season though! Edited November 27 by Utah Owl
