Popular Post Kendo Nagasaki
Was told on Saturday of the passing of our much loved former coach Tony Toms. I believe that it is now being formally announced on media outlets so now feel comfortable posting on here. had the pleasure of meeting Tony on numerous occasions walking the dogs on our local beach here in West Wales and meeting him for a Saturday lunch time jar. He loved speaking about his time with the Owls and had nothing but fond memories of his time in Sheffield. A colossus of a man who’s handshake could break rocks, RIP Tony. Popular Post Pablo Bonvin
Someone only posted a picture on here a few days ago of him, Charlton, Setters and St John saying he was the only one of them left. That's one hell of a management team they've now got upstairs! RIP Tony

Popular Post Basement Jack
So sad Love this almost iconic photo The players and Tony look mesmerized by Big Jack We should never forget the role Tony Toms played in helping Big Jack turn Wednesday round and the fitness and psychology that was used to such great effect Great memories from a great era . Hopefully some of those memories will be shared in this thread Thanks Tony 6 2

fredmciverslovechild
Went to a pub just off the Pendine Sands in South Wales a number of years back when down there for a weekend. Not quite sure how but I was talking about Wednesday with the pub landlord who knew all about Tony Toms; he was well known in the area. The story he told me was that in the Big Jack days they'd take the squad down there in early pre-season to do training on the sands. When they'd finished they'd have to leg it to the pub; the last to arrive would have to pick up the tab. Needless to say Tony Toms never spent a penny (in the monetary sense!) there. This is really sad news as Tony was an absolutely fantastic character.
Animis
RIP Tony. Remember 1976 when he took the team overnight on the moors in freezing weather - playing at home and players having a 'phycological block' was even being churned out then:
