I think it's a really relevant point from ODA (gasp) to say it needs to be thought about in decades rather than season by season.
I worked in women's football for a few years - not the top division but the next one down (can't remember what it was called then) - it was awash with international players though.
But usually the "crowd" would be outnumbered by the staff of the 2 teams playing
We could be seeing a paradigm shift
I don't think the women's game will overtake the men's game but it is being seen much more as an alternative
Women's football still needs to focus on community, inclusively, fun and accessibility.
I strongly believe that changing from a summer to winter game has not helped and I still think that's part of the problem and not a solution
