  1. Couple more tickets available on the site now if it helps anyone
  2. Maybe late to the party. But if anyone still has 2 tickets for Mondays game burning a hole in their pocket, please let me know. Can collect from hillsborough on Friday if that helps. Many thanks
  3. I'm not sure of beadles save to shot ratio since joining us, and I can't seem to find dawsons, but I'm pretty sure he was the worst in the championship this season? He let in more goals than he should have. Added to that, I also think that beadle plays the short passing game better than dawson, which is clearly what were trying to do to beat the press. Beadle needs to work on his long ball, but that's not the aim of our play. Dawson needs to leave at the end of the season because you'll never get the whole fan base for or against him. Some defend him stoutly for being one of our own, and some criticise every thing he does because of it. Like wildsmith, he needs to move on. Personally, like wildsmith, I don't think he gets a move 'up' from wednesday.
  4. I don't think Johnson has ever been a left back in a 4 who gets no protection from his winger against a team flying at the top of the table. Call me outrageous, but I don't think he ever will be. Was no better or worse than the rest of the 11. Was no more or less disinterested than the rest of the 11 (I thought many of our players 'gave up' mind). Non-story
  5. "A broken watch is right twice a day" is how I would describe the link between those results and xisco. If you pick 11 names out the hat and let them play however they want, we'd have had a similar points total to xiscos sheffield wednesday.an absolutely diabolical appointment by the chairman
  6. I personally thought palmer was awful against Leeds in the middle because he was so uncomfortable playing quick football. The poveda injury is slightly less worrisome If windass is back, but there's no solace whatsoever if Barry is out. Stick him in an oxygen tank for 2 weeks or something. We are turd without him
  7. I think Röhl is the only thing really keeping the fans and the club together at this point, and the feel good factor he's created has dampened down talks and acts of protest beyond yellow paper and a van. I kind of hope this has been said with the chairman in mind, because no fan would back him over Röhl.
  8. I like many fans love Röhl and was singing his name when we went 4, 5, 6 down, but he can't be free of any criticism. How much comes down to gung-ho tactics and how much comes down to the players' pride to ensure that when a game is lost, it doesn't get embarassing I am not sure, but there's now been a few games where we've been walloped. Millwall, hudds, Southampton, today spring to mind. Teams around us are getting beat, but I don't remember any taking as many tonkings as we have? (rotherham excluded)
  9. Not even worth a well structured counter argument. Absolutely awful shout.
  10. Odd choice to have both and poveda playing today. Not the reason we lost, but their left back had the freedom of ipswich all day
  11. The away pub is still by the train station isn't it?
  12. The Heffernan effect (2010) is still a psychological phenomenon rife in football it seems
  13. If you're the kind of person who physically can't watch a game of football without 10 pints or a sniff of coke, then football isn't for you. If you're the kind of person who can hurl abuse at a person on a field, but will immediately get violently angry if they dare to make a shush gesture towards you or cup their ear, then football isn't for you If you're the kind of person who thinks it's smart, safe or even acceptable to take weapons to football matches (or items to be used as weapons like pool balls) then football isn't for you. No ifs, no buts, no excuses. These people are an absolute cancer on modern day football. The police have to do more. The club has to do more. The fans have to do more.
  14. It's quite a difference playing in games like last night as opposed to having a car park behind his goal at Oxford. Looks to be getting his feet under the table and made some cracking saves last night. part of a very shrewd jan transfer window which has given us a chance of staying up
  15. No one wants to take responsibility for their own shitty actions anymore.
  16. Longer term no, but last night windass in particular would have had the composure and decision making skills to keep the ball better in situations gassama and musaba didn't.
  17. Felt to me like he reffed the 2nd half like it was a prem game. Much more contact given as fouls etc. They played it to good effect. We didn't.
  18. When they turned the pace up and really pressed, players like palmer and musaba just couldn't really handle it. Can't be too critical though. Musaba will blow hot and cold and palmer has never claimed to be a top end championship centre midfielder. Based on their xi tonight and ours, player for player I'm not sure you'd pick many of ours over theirs. Gotta get past Leeds and Ipswich still in with a shout and get into Swansea, boro, Stoke etc
  19. 1 minute added on for the first half was a joke really. They've clearly given up on clamping down on time wasting. Also, many included myself saw bali mumba as a steal at the price they paid in the summer. Seems to have fallen off a cliff form and ability wise.
  20. Hope the commentators find happiness somewhere away from watching football. Must be horrible having a job that makes you that miserable
  21. Somewhat likely neither goalkeeper will be playing at wednesday next season. Beadle will be in the championship, whereas I'm not so sure dawson will.
  22. Good player. But screamed a "what we could get" signing rather than a "get what we need" signing. He plays the same role bannan does, who is the one player we didn't need to contemplate replacing. You also cannot play 2 bannan I'll let others argue whether he's better than poveda or not, but for what I assume is the same sort of money, poveda benefits this team and its style of play far more than buckley would have/did.
  23. You would hope Röhl will have done his due diligence with regards to the impending court appearance. The logical assumption will be that Röhl the German has got him in as a fellow German, therefore any bad pr from this could thrown at the manager
  24. I agree that the play off final memberships were an exploitation, but it was the kind of exploitation every club (good, sensibly run clubs) would have done. I've mates who support Norwich and Newcastle as examples and they've done the same for trips to Wembley. I don't agree with it, but I can stomach it. What I struggle to stomach though is the exploitation we as a not good, not sensibly run club we carry on. Hand written receipts, incredibly short season ticket deadlines with the penalty of sharp increases, bizarre game to game ticket pricings which encourage a 'closed shop' attendance mentality, despite thousands of seats being free every week.
  25. For a set up that is keen to remind people that they are customers, and not custodians, we are doing an absolutely criminal job in garnering new customers or even simply keeping the customers we have. I don't want to appear to be pandering to fickle or fairweather fans, but there is no viability in deciding on the day as a fan of wednesday, or a concession who doesn't have anything better to do, because those prices just don't compare favourably locally. Premier league teams have the TV money to prop up ticket prices, and that's great, but that shouldn't mean that non prem fans should have to cover the shortfall otherwise.
