  1. He rides a Harley ? Sorry, a bit off-topic... I always liked Marvin Johnson, and he probably knows where he's at, at this stage in his career.
  2. Leicester....What if Wednesday " does a Leicester ", in other words, wins in the face of bookie odds at 5000:1, wasn't that the odds when Leicester did what they did in the 1st Tier a few years back, with a bunch of no-name Players ?? Don't know the bookie odds for this upcoming game with SWFC. Only in this case it'd be the Leicester Miracle for just one match, not an entire Season, and in the 2nd Tier, not the 1st. As @Highowl said previously, Owls win 1-0. Incidentally, what's Ranieri up to these days, he likes an impossible project, and we have such a project, on and off the Pitch.
  3. @GermanBird...wo bist Du ( where are you ) ?....did she get banished from Owlstalk ? Ain't seen her in a while now...
  4. Roehl just might work, from what I gather he's a "technician", well, the game is rather technical today...personally, I liked the Mick Lyons version of "technical" , but those days are gone. I'll support the new manager, until he gives reason not to....
  5. Where is he now, serious question, what happened to him ?
  6. Windass is not going to say his personal thoughts, if he wants to keep his job, even an out-of-positionS job.... I think Moore would have kept the Squad confident, and continued on with his " silent-but-effective " approach to managing a football Squad. Wednesday had some pride and momentum going...and that dope of an Owner dis-masted the ship. In years past, I have always spoken well of the Owner, but, the Moore thing has convinced me that he is not right for SWFC. Call me a slow-learner, but.... I'd love to sit down and share a few pints with Windass, and hear his real opinion of things. We fans generally only hear such opinions after the Player has retired, and is writing His memoirs.....
  7. Good God Almighty, it's the first match, with a new Manager, new tactics, a few new Players. new support staff, and about two weeks worth of " gel-time ".... This may just have been the best that the Saints will look, this season, because " failure payments " aside, from what I gather, some of their top Players won't be around for the next match, and what's that say to any top Player whom they wish they attract ? Even for the money ?
  8. @wiggy thanks for your comments. Flying is cheap these days, back in the 1960's and 1970's it cost a whole lot more...only " rich " people flew... Won't be any days lost in travel, maybe a few hours. Jet lag, well, it'll be 5 hours earlier than GMT ( England, all of it ), 3:00 PM game in England, is 10:00 AM here in our Eastern Time Zone, in other words from our Atlantic Coast to about 500 miles westward...... be 8 hours of jet-lag in California. Any travelling Fans, meaning, those Fans from other Countries coming to the Wednesday pre-season in the U.S.A. , will experience hospitality and meet some people with whom they will forever be friends.
  9. Why not a Wednesday pre-season abroad in the U.S.A. ? There are a fair few Wednesday fans here, but there is an opportunity to get more... Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, won't even notice a Wednesday pre-season...Americans would notice and be asking "who is this Wednesday" because Americans think English Clubs are some sort of " United", "City", "Town", "County" or "Wanderers"....Who is this "Wednesday".....??? American fans of American Clubs would definitely show up, to see their Club play against ANY English side, because we have much respect for English football, in fact, the better Players here, dream of getting a "gig" with an English Club. John Harkes is a legend here, amongst "soccer" fans, during a pre-season here, Moore just might spot another Harkes.
  10. To my mind, Wednesday has some stability, Chansiri is definitely in it for the long haul, or he would have not taken such abuse, some of that abuse was earned, some was unearned, for ~8 years now... Moore, took the helm when the ship was dis-masted, leaking badly, and lying a hull, in a full-blown hurricane...with every possibility of sinking with all hands. and he has done nothing but improve the SWFC. The relegation season cannot be laid at his feet, but this promotion season can be. Nothing makes this guy panic, and his mindset, became the mindset of his Crew. As with any voyage, Crews change, can't wait to see what he does next season. I think he has long-term thoughts, and is probably already thinking about next season.... What as season was this one.
  11. @TheHawk, thanks for that, we in the U.S.A. don't get this sort of media coverage, even for Tier 1 really. In fact, what Wednesday did, was not even on the news here, much less what Pep said. What a compliment did Pep make, not just concerning Wednesday, but for English Football in general...He should know, because City was never what it has been since he took over. Anything is possible, and can happen, and just did happen...in England. Works the other way around too, Forest Green beat Wednesday, fair & square. Anything can happen. Got to win one more, for promotion. Can't sit back and say " look what we did " , key word is "did" and now Wednesday has to "do", again.
  12. Yes, it's been a strange Season, unique really, even for the Top Two, Ipswich fans are probably complaining too, they scored more goals than anybody, had an incredible goal-differential, and had ( I think ) the least number of goals conceded...their efforts were good for 2nd place. Wow. Wednesday simply fell apart, I don't know why, because it was so sudden, violent, and totally unexpected..by even the "media" and opposition Clubs. Wednesday will survive, because of their Fans...same like all the other Clubs who are not the current kick-ass Clubs, in whatever Division, 1st or 4th.
  13. This collapse, isn't because Moore isn't like the Drill Sergeant in the movie Full Metal Jacket. The Players are not slacking, which is no way to up your value in the shop window, they are trying... maybe they're just not good enough. Up to this point, Wednesday was the talk of the League, and Moore was being being compared to other great Wednesday Managers. Auto's was the goal, and it's still possible, playoffs are certain. Not a bad season really, Fans just need to calm down, no need to act like we just finished dead last in Division 2.
  14. Yes, it is disappointing to see such a collapse, so late in the season, last 8 games or so... It's a tight table, every game matters, at least amongst the top 3 contenders for 1st place, as well as the relegation scrap, which has been the scenario across the whole season really. The collapse was very sudden, and unexpected, even with all the injuries, Wednesday has been playing injured for the whole season. To my mind, or what remains of it, the defense has disappeared, goals are being shipped at an alarming rate. Why ? Honest question.
  15. I figure that Lord Snooty doesn't want to jinx it, strange times these are...still. I'd rather hear from His Royal Owlstalker.
