  1. The difference between us and Man Utd is that they have a massive budget, one of the highest in worldwide sport, nevermind football. And the fact we have suffered for the past 2/3 years after signing players we didn't need on big money. A one year deal makes me feel better about it, but people are rightly going to question signing a RB when we already have 3 that can play there, after we have just been relegated in huge part to stupid recruitment decisions.
  2. Never knew that - I would have taken either at the time. Glad we took Stevie though, thought he could have done it properly in the Championship but was shipped out after getting 12 in a season I think?
  3. https://youtu.be/FuMjmQMZu5A Personally I'd want this from one of the best bands on the planet right now. Would also be my WWE entrance music, with my alias being The Yarkshire Pudding.
  4. I forgot about Beckett, great shout! We also tried for Scott Taylor and Steve Howard which were big news at the time. We did eventually land Howard, but can remember there being pages on here dedicated to him whilst at Luton.
  5. Can't believe Hamburg and Schalke are in Bundesliga.2. Not long ago they had Van der Vaart and Huntelaar respectively! My missus used to live in Osnabruck for a while so got a soft spot for them. They had Van Aken a bit back on loan too. Played with them on FM but never quite got them promoted!
  6. The two biggest of big uns. Adam Le Fondre and Billy Sharp.
  7. I can't say I've seen him play, but watched his highlights yesterday and he does remind me a bit of MacLean or Ryan Lowe. Mainly does his work inside the 6 yard area, one or two strikes from outside the box. He won't be on huge amounts, I think he's 26 so not up and coming. No transfer fee, won't break the bank, we're struggling for strikers. Wouldn't mind us testing the water with an offer.
  8. I like the away one, home one the sleeves look a bit weird, but we've had much worse. Fair play
  9. I call bullshine. I've got your wife's pink thong on so you can't have.
  10. Pink fondant fancies are legit the best, as is salmon.
  11. Decent for this division, but don't think we need another RB. If Palmer gets moved on then it's a great signing. Positive that he wants to be here, but will be annoyed if it eats into budget for a striker or GK. Welcome back Jack, hope you do well.
  12. 100% - wonder if he's keeping his options open, be no end of suitors in L1, maybe higher. Paul Mullin too. We need a striker, scored a ton in L2, be a cheap gamble imo.
  13. Really interesting, thanks for posting. I respect his honesty. Everybody thinks footballers are robots who want the same thing and are immune to mistakes. He wanted to play in the Premier League and for his country and did, sounds like that was it for him. On his time with us, he was a key loan signing, a perfect fit. Whereas Antonio was pace and power, Treacy was more guile and craft. Could tell why he had played higher up. Hope he keeps up the good work, nice to hear he's on the more straight and narrow.
  14. Need to get myself Ramsdale's agent's number. I'd be headed into Space with Bezos and Branson about now.
  15. For me it's not a question of if he's good enough, he probably is for L1. But so is Palmer. They're similar ages, with similar stats who will probably be on similar wages - if not then Hunt will probably be on more. We've just had a clear out this summer and last of squad members who were on too high wages for what we needed. It took us about 2/3 years to get to a point where we could. People have been understandably moaning about it for ages. So the first chance we get to sign somebody we're going to sign someone who isn't much of an upgrade, in a position where we are fine, on first team wages? I just cant get my head around it. If Palmer goes, yes please bring him in, he will be decent at this level. But if he's going to eat into budget when we don't need him then we have been doing that since DC has been here, and it hasn't worked.
