  1. I think this is them, but can't guarantee it
  2. Doubt it but, as always, depends on what the two clubs have agreed as part of the loan deal.
  3. Sorry, I'm not (c)able to contribute to this thread.. I'll get mi coat
  4. I think it was the 1990/91 season (certainly late 80s/early 90s), on a coach from Swinton/Mexborough, we'd set off early to try to get down to the game against City, knowing that the blizzard-like conditions meant this was in reality unlikely. We got as far as Clay Cross on the M1 when traffic came to a standstill, so after 10/15 minutes of having snowball fights with Sunderland fans who I think were on their way down to Tottenham (certainly one of the London clubs), someone decided it'd be a great idea to find the nearest motorway exit and find a pub!! So we left the coach driver and the remaining 10 or so who didn't fancy it on the bus and set off walking, and after about 1 to 2 miles eventually found a village with a pub that had just opened. Cue about 40 Wednesdayites and a slightly smaller number of Sunderland fans descending on this village pub; I'm not sure if they were rubbing their hands with glee at the prospect of a bumper payday or filled with trepidation about two sets of opposing football fans descending on their pub!! Anyway, the beer flowed and there wasn't one bit of trouble, just some friendly banter between the 2 sets of fans, as it should be. After a few hours of drinking and singing we thought we better make our way back to the coach, so off we marched, though I'm sure on the way back it seemed more like 3 or 4 miles back to the motorway!! Once there, we walked down the still standing traffic jam and eventually found our coach about a mile further down the motorway than where we'd left it; that's all it had travelled!! Thankfully the heaters were on full blast to dry out our socks and warm up our frozen extremities, before eventually the traffic started moving slowly so that we could get to the next motorway exit and come back up the M1 northbound to make our way home. It was one of the best matches we never actually saw in terms of the day out, and I think the game finished with honours even at 1-1.
  5. When you said he was back, I thought you meant he was handing out leaflets outside the ground tonight
  6. True, except for some of the 'busier' games, where you would still see regular queues shortly before kick-off. It does seem that there are fewer turnstiles open this season than previous seasons, which the club is responsible for, and which obviously compounds the issue. That doesn't take away from the fact that if you turn up just before kick-off you run a high risk of missing the first 5/10 minutes of the game. To be honest, I'm one who leaves it late and have on occasion missed a few minutes of the game, but I don't then go on social media criticising the club because I've had to queue to get in.
  7. Cue a thread on here about 10 minutes after the game has finished denouncing the club for the queues outside the turnstiles when they arrived 5 minutes before kick off
  8. It seems there's only one person missing the point, and I don't think it's me. Very few people on this earth are lucky enough to have a seemingly endless pot of money which enables them to buy what they want, when they want. Therefore most people have to make choices and prioritise their spending. To do this, many people will plan out their priorities over the year and save for those priorities accordingly. Just off the top of my head I know that every year I will need to pay for: buildings and contents insurance, car tax, MOT and insurance; insurance for my scooter; a summer holiday; Christmas; oh yeah, and a Wednesday season ticket. I also know, usually to a given month, when I need to pay for these and, since I don't have a bottomless pit of money I can call upon at any given time, I save accordingly each month for the preceding 12 months to ensure I've got the money to pay for them. It's a pretty simple concept really, I'm surprised you don't understand it. Oh, and if you don't like the use of emoji's, remove them, it's your site.
  9. The fact that I've managed to use this method of paying for my season ticket for between 25-30 years means I've obviously not thought it through
  10. I don't want this to sound too critical, but surely if someone is so inclined (and is able to do so!) they have approximately 12 months to 'plan' saving for a season ticket. My season ticket saving began in January 2023 immediately after paying the early bird price for this year's season ticket. It's not a given that I'm going to get one for next season, it depends on how much Chancer is charging for potentially League 1 football, but I'll have the money available due to prudent planning on my part. I know not everyone is in such a position and will have competing demands on limited resources (we all have!!), but I've done this for years knowing that usually come January the early bird prices are announced.
  11. I'm not sure, but I'm sure there'll be a thread (or two ) on here soon to let you know.
  12. Taken from the bottom of the article.... 'Salman Khan is BNN's esteemed International Sports Correspondent'. Crikey, if he's their 'esteemed' correspondent, I'd hate to think what their run of the mill correspondents are like..... 'in breaking news, Sheffield Wednesday have just lost the FA Cup final 3-2 to Everton, after leading the game 2-0'
  13. Here's a few more that one of the mates ordered
