  1. They could google it.....oh wait, do we have internet.....?
  2. You know you're at rock bottom when you're convincing yourself of the merits of being owned by the Saudi regime.
  3. This would absolutely ruin "Sunderland Till I Die" for me.......
  4. The irony of all this is I don't think it mattered to Röhl that facilities were bad or that we were run on a skeleton staff, even that the squad wasn't the best. What mattered to him was having the ability to improve and move forward. That requires resources that Chansiri no longer has and is why his argument that he has the clubs best interests at heart has no substance.
  5. My original point was that he will almost certainly leave. No contract can keep a manager at a club if he decides his time is up. Whatever any prospective compensation amounts to it will be negligible compared to the loss of one of the most talented and popular managers we've seen. Ambition and resources are what his talent deserves, Chansiri can't offer him that.
  6. I think compensation is typically calculated using the remaining contract term and the contract amount. So, if we multiply not very long by not very much we get, very little......
  7. Here's an undisputable fact...... you're a twunt.
  8. I said "short term".....so at best it's 2025. Regardless, its totally academic because his contract length will not keep him here. As we saw with Bruce you can't stop people leaving.
  9. My understanding is we were awarded £1500 and someone in their infinite wisdom used it to buy an actual parachute........typical Wednesday.
  10. Lets be right. He isn't "jumping ship". That makes it sound like he's doing a runner. He'll leave because he's on a short term deal and is (if he hasn't already) going to be getting offers from clubs with ambition and resources. We have nothing to offer him other than the fanbase. On man is responsible for everything that happens at our club, he can't possibly have the best interests of the club at heart if he can only limp from season to season. Sell up and f@ck off.
  11. The protest must go on. You can’t stop and start for if you win a few or we sign a player, relegation fight, whatever. The root cause of all or issues doesn’t come and go, it’s a constant……so the protests must be.
  12. Said it last week, now is not the time in the season for your form to be tanking. Momentum is everything right now.
  13. Leaves you with Sovereign Wealth Funds..... Jokes aside, in it's not that the money is American, it's that we continue to see individuals, hedge funds, consortiums etc come in a think they've got the skill in the room because they've made money in other sectors. That's the issue, the failure to recognise the need for specialists. All too familiar to us........
  14. Nothing against Birmingham but actually I'd like to see them go down. It's another classic case of American money thinking they can apply their business acumen to football......."have a nice day...."
  15. It's like any worthwhile struggle, it won't happen over night, some feelings will be hurt, hopefully nobody will be harmed..... Like I said the other day, It's pretty clear that the biggest obstacle to change isn't the owner, it's actually a section of the fan base. I don't see how you can be motivated into action because the club is a circus only to transition to "it's not so bad" because we have (for a short time only) an exceptional manager that's strung a winning run together. The sh!tshow circus is still there..........and the admission price is going up. Every win is nothing more than a moment, built on the the hard work, skill and dedication of the staff and players. Beyond that there is an abyss....... I find it incredible that people can't see this, that they are blinded by a handful of results. Had we lost the last five games I don't doubt the protest would have been bigger than the Birmingham game so what people need to get through their heads is the ability to separate results and the team from the club and the owner. Anyone telling themselves we will keep Röhl or sign Poveda/Ugbo is blind to the reality of this situation IMO. What are we fighting to stay up for? There's no vision, no planning, no ambition, no resources. We will just lurch to the next calamity which will almost certainly be the next managerial appointment regardless of which division we are in.
  16. @Whitechapel Owl Not going out in the first round is the podium for me..... Thanks for you time running this.
  17. I didn't think last nights ref was terrible. The first goal was frustrating because if you watch it you see him realise the 4 mins is up but he's waiting for play to break down. If you are the attacking team you're happy with it......
  18. Exactly. And why I find the people on here that were saying "lets just enjoy the wins" over the last few weeks to be such annoying, cretinous muppets. Every win is nothing more than a moment, built on the the hard work, skill and dedication of the staff and players. Beyond that there is an abyss....... I find it incredible that people can't see this, that they are blinded by results. Had we lost the last five games I don't doubt tonight's protest would have been bigger than the Birmingham game so what people need to get through their thick skull is the ability to separate results and the team from the club and the owner.
  19. I was thinking more along the lines of if no action is taken by club or authorities. So, essentially the Owlstalk Instant Court of Ultimate and Necessary Justice Against Tw@ts or OTICUNJAT for short…. I realise it’s not catchy!! It’s a WIP…....
  20. I'm for seeing his photo on here. They are scum, I don't see why anyone should be remotely bothered about their rights or feelings. If you have someone who can back up what you heard OP you should tell the club you are reporting it to the police if their response falls short of what most normal people would consider satisfactory.
  21. It's pretty clear that the biggest obstacle to change isn't the owner, it's actually a section of the fan base. 22. Short sightedness unfortunately. We've won a few, Poveda (who I love) is a shiny thing therefore everything is ok. They'll reawaken momentarily if we are relegated, when Röhl leaves at the end of his short deal, when we lose a couple of decent players as their deals end, when our loan players return to their superiorly run parent clubs, when we fail to invest next season regardless of where we are because we have no funds available, when then next calamitous mistake occurs. They'll remember the owner is a walking sh!tshow, but they'll soon forget again. Empty headedness at it's finest.
