  1. My opinion, is give him a few games to get up to speed fitness wise and to sharpen his touch and he will be immense, the fans will love him. He will run the midfield in many games. He has the potential to form a fantastic partnership with Bannan, very reminiscent of the Sheridan - Palmer partnership that was so successful for us. His athleticism alongside Bannan would also allow us to keep the attacking formation of Cadamarteri, Windass, Mussaba and Gassama that has been so successful of late. I’m very much looking forward to him being given his chance in the team.
  2. No they aren’t. Both are substandard. I am sick of watching Palmer give goals away with undisciplined, lazy defending, his crossing, dribbling and passing is woeful. don’t get me started on Paterson! Neither of these two should ever get near the staring lineup if we are serious about getting out of this division. we need some pace and invention out wide, Hunt and Johnson have done ok and are better options than most teams in league one have. However, if we want to get out of this league we need pace and invention out wide to feed people like Smith and Gregory.
  3. The answer is quite simple. The seats were in such a bad state and looked awful. Unfortunately there was no point repairing them as we haven’t got the spare cash, and due to ground exit issues fans can’t be housed in this area.
  4. We don’t need a goalkeeping coach. We need a decent goalkeeper. Without Westwood we are down to substandard goalkeepers.
  5. His strike rate since 2014 is a goal every 3.53 games which would equate to 13 goals in a season. He is also ageing and on the decline. Hardly the strike rate that will set the division alight and fire us out of the division. However, have we got the finances and reputation to attract better at present? We are in this predicament mainly due to a lack of goals in the team, particularly last season. Let’s not start bringing in new players, especially strikers who haven’t got goals in them. I think we should be looking to utilise the loan system and bring in some raw talent with pace and potential and not journeymen.
  6. 18 year old former Westfield pupil. He’s a decent footballer with a good engine. He’s come through the academy playing left back with the under 18’s and under 23’s.
  7. Mick Lyons Carlton Palmer Gary Shelton Gary Megson Mel Sterland The above are some of the hardest tacklers we have had over the years. None of them were a Bremner, Souness, Keane style real hard man though. Wednesday have always lacked this essential element in our teams.
  8. A five yard tap in within his first 45 minutes. Stick with him and goals will come.
  9. Im sure I would. I’d certainly have a bet if I knew he’d get a starting place each game. It’s not as daft as it sounds.
  10. I’ll be a little controversial. The problem is not Jordan Rhodes, he hasn’t scored regularly for a few reasons: over recent seasons we have rarely delivered decent quality crosses into the box due to having poor quality wingers, building up too slowly, and inept coaching and management. He has rarely had a decent run of games in the team for a full 90 minutes. When he plays we ask too much of him in terms of work outside the box. He’s a goal scorer and to do that job he needs service in and around the penalty area; particularly the six yard box. He will be judged on goals, not through trying to impress with work rate. if Rhodes was to play every game this coming season, if we get crosses into the box, and play the ball into his feet rather than lump it high to him aimlessly, I would wager he would score twenty plus goals. Goal scoring is not something you forget. In the absence of any other genuine goal scorer let’s give him a sustained run; some people might just be surprised!
  11. Rhodes needs game time not rest if he is ever going to be a footballer again. He’s been “resting” for three years!
  12. The Ifollow subscription doesn't include league cup games.
  13. There are some fantastic people on this forum, in every part of our ground, and working at our club. Well done everyone, you should be very proud of yourselves. I hope this gesture has brought a piece of happiness to this lady and her family at such a tough time. I'm sure all our thoughts are with them.
