Guest TonyOwl88 Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 How much money is lost by dropping from the Championship to League One? Not including potential attendance falls, but just league moneys?
gabbywokingowl Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 How much money is lost by dropping from the Championship to League One? Not including potential attendance falls, but just league moneys? My understanding: Sky/BBC TV Deal - Championship £2.65M, League 1 640K per season Premiership Solidarity - Championship between £700K-£1.3M depending on league position, League £100K per season Npower sponsorship - tba but presumably Championship clubs will get more than League 1 It gets worse - as Newcastle and WBA have gone straight back up, the Premiership solidarity payment will double for 2010/11. Also if the payments are increased to clubs relegated from the Premiership as recently reported, the solidarity payments may well be increased as a sweetener to the other clubs. So maybe something like £4 million ? Even if this is not entirely correct, it will be a significant amount of money. If anyone knows better, please correct.
