  1. I hope he's given a chance. After what he's committed and achieved when dealt the worst possible hand it would feel quite brutal to sack him, but then again football is a brutal game. The second half of the season, with a bit of support in January and little to play for, apart from pride, feels like the ideal 'audition'. Getting a proper structure with a Sporting Director and CEO should be priority number one for me.
  2. Actually, yes it did. The gate receipts will have gone a long way to making sure the staff and players get paid this month. Avert your gaze from the pitch and look at the bigger picture.
  3. As with all games at the moment, its probably less about what actually happens on the pitch and more about supporting the club. The second of the four games is against Derby on 15th December in what should be the first home game under new ownership. It would be good to think the fanbase would turn out in numbers to welcome our new custodians.
  4. Same here. In a bizarre, masochistic way, I think staying to the bitter end, clapping our players off and seeing them ******** celebrate was the right thing to do, not only to show unity, but to keep that picture in my mind for the next time. To truly enjoy the highs, you have to experience the lows.
  5. I don't live in Sheffield so I didn't have to go into work this morning and face any smug pigs, so I get it, to an extent. But the levels of mardiness have been off the scale. I really wonder what people's expectations were yesterday and disappointed by how quickly the solidarity between players, staff and supporters just seemed to evaporate for many. I don't buy into this "players weren't trying" and "where was the pashun" BS - we're just not good enough, in fact nowhere near good enough. No team at any level could cope with losing 16 first team players, whilst bringing in one teenager and a fourth choice emergency keeper from the level below. Its a tough watch, and will contune to be, but all we can do as supporters is to keep backing the team until the cavalry arrives.
  6. So much for s**tstorm Friday Sounds promising, albeit tinged with "we still want more, the door is still open" vibes.
  7. I like him but with only 2 possible incomings, for now at least, I think we need to focus on defence and defensive midfield, especially with losing Fusire and Valery to Afcon from mid December.
  8. Nothing much new takover wise, still in what appears to be a very optimistic place. Most important takeaway is that we should expect some radio silence for the next 2-3 wks while negotiations go on behind the scenes - and most importantly, in the absence of news, we don't panic! Its funny, in your head you have visions of these guys on the phone constantly to billionaires, not up to their necks in the minutiae of kit clashes, chicken and chips or beer lines
  9. DJ, get the Conga cued up for pre-match Du, du, du... https://youtube.com/shorts/2prNZgUYdRg?si=IfsOOZutSknNW2WU
  10. With respect Adam, and I'm sure this is well intentioned, I think if anything like this is done, it needs to come from an official source, such as @SWFC Trust No pun intended, we don't know you from Adam
  11. Realistically, we're only run at a profit with a threadbare squad and a fully engaged fanbase, as we've seen in the last 2 weeks. What that shows is just how effective the boycotts were with finally forcing him out of the door. But realistically, whoever takes over will run the club at a significant loss, even with fans fully engaged - and more so if they make the big infrastructure investments we desperately need.
  12. Birmingham finished 19 points clear of second place in L1 last season. 24 points clear of 3rd.
  13. I think his interest was/is inevitable. He's a vulture and we're a carcus. Not my choice but I do think he'd be an interim option, a bit like Milan was. He'd get us on tbe straight and narrow and look to sell us on at a profit.

  15. Friday 24 October + 28 days = Friday 21 November. 2 days before pigs at home.
  16. Great stuff Seen quite a few posts like this in last few days - maybe @SWFC Trust and/or one of the podcats can get involved by managing / distributing donated tickets to worthy individuals? Sorry guys - I know its not like you haven't already got a ridiculous amount of work on!!!
  17. Not at all. Much rather a fuller stadium and better atmosphere. I'd say the same for ticket prices generally as well.
  18. Nelly the (Golden) Elephant Packed his trunk and said goodbye to the circus
  19. I remain sceptical about the impact of a season ticket holder boycott but I'm taking part. @SWFC Trust have been careful and consistent in their comms throughout that they're not instructing supporters to do anything. They're asking. Two very different things.
  20. It would be great if those of us that are there on Saturday could chant his name or pay our respects in some way. What say you @SWFC Trust ? I don't blame the club for doing the official thing tomorrow night, I'm sure it's not deliberate, just following normal protocol. I'll be paying my respects at tbe same time from my living room!
  21. This one. Get well soon Royston. https://youtu.be/Z7B5FYGsdx8?si=gGhFG8b5VO5U877m
  22. Looking ahead to the next three fixtures after the break - and learning from what has just gone before - does anyone else think that fielding a weakened team against Middlesbrough might be the way to go? It's the middle game and probably the least winnable of the three. Oxford at home at the end of the week is the most important of the three. Sad that we have to take that view but wouldn't be surprised if that's what we do.
  23. I too am a season ticket holder and although I agree with a lot of your sentiment, I will be adhering to the boycott. I think you're right about the derby being the much better option in terms of impact, but the Trust know, like we all do, that the chances of that being a success is extremely limited. Realistically, people will not miss that one - and POTG will be much higher too - so better that is used for visual / vocal protest, which would not be achieved at a midweek game against Boro, even without a boycott.
  24. I'm a bit sceptical about this one, but I'll go along with it. Like the majority of s/t holders, I've not spent a penny in the ground this season, but our presence means the club has costs, such as stewarding, catering staff and cleaning. Openly boycotting like this means they can plan for a smaller crowd and cut costs, which is counter productive, in my opinion. However, empty stands will make a visual statement as its a TV game I guess, and will hopefully show what appetite there is among the fanbase for not renewing when the early birds go on sale.
