Absolutely beautiful. The way the beak curves down rather than run straight across under the eyes makes the dimensions perfect -
New owner surely equals badge change
RevOwl replied to RevOwl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Clearly, but the fact of the matter is the badge needs to go back to how it was. The one we have now is too Chansiriesque -
I thought exactly the same thing mate. Always in our shadow
-
I stand corrected, Blades Men
-
So who is then?
-
I've just read a book about the history of Sheffield and in the closing chapter, Sheffielders were refered to as Blades. Apparently this is what we were once known as due to our leadership in the world of making cutlery. It said we were known as Blades, just like people from Newcastle are known as Geordies and people from Liverpool known as sscourers. It also went on to say that Sheffield Wednesday's nickname was originally 'The Blades' but was changed after we moved to Owlerton stadium. Doe's this make us the original Blades and our rivals not, as they didn't even exist when we went by that name.

I know it's been mentioned many times on here but hopefully the new owner will change the badge immediately. No shields, no words just the beautiful owl

Give him a decent run in the side and he'll score a hat full. Could be our main striker

Big Sam. If he gets the club he's ready to have Big Sam as manager. He's just returned from discussions with him about the position at Mike Ashley's holiday home in Portugal. It will happen immediately if Ashley is successful in his attempt to purchase the club which he believes will happen by 20th December. You read it here first.

Well, last season i rackled on about Ugbo on here, calling him lazy, inept, lacking speed and having quite simply no impact at all on any games. I referred to him as a flash in the pan during his loan spell with us and that he was up there with the worst signings that we've probably ever made. To my amazement, some people dared to back him, saying things like he's just lacking in confidence or he hadn't had a pre season. Since then, my view hasn't changed, in fact he's probably worse than what i originally thought. Surely it's time to take a hit on him and let him go. Obviously we wouldn't get offered any money for him but I'm sure a league 2 club would give him a go on a free transfer, or perhaps a lower league Scottish club. We've got about 4 other strikers at Wednesday that are clearly all much better than him who I'm sure will put us on until a take over is complete and Ugbo's wages could go towards any future signings.

Because he's a clunt. I've often thought his accent wasn't like people who really are from Sheffield.
-
I used to say on here that he would be a shocking signing if we brought him back. Sure enough we got him back and i instantly started to comment on how bad a player he was for us only to be told that he needed confidence or needed to get match fit. The truth of the matter is he's just a rubbish player it's that simple. His effort levels are zero, work rate absolutely dreadful and impact on every single game is 0/10. He's slow, can't head a ball, gets bossed around by defenders and doesn't even get in to goal scoring positions, something even Bothroyd managed to do occasionally. I fail to see how he's even made it as a professional footballer. Hopefully the incoming new regime will get him gone and replace him with a half decent striker.

Please please please stay at home and watch Wednesday on tele tomorrow night. No more supporting or funding Chansiri, no excuses, no "I've promised my kid we'll go" no "it affects my mental health if i don't go" no nothing!!! The more of you that go, the longer you're keeping him here by funding his stay which means you're partly responsible for this mess. Be like the real fans that only want the best for our club and give him absolutely nothing.

Oh they did, many!

As baffling as those booing the pitch invasion while even the Coventry fans applauded it.
-
The 10th minute pitch invasion was greeted by boo's from thousands of Wednesday fans yet looking at the Coventry fans, they were cheering the fans on the pitch and applauding them. How is it possible that away fans support our protests yet our own fans don't? Maybe Rob Staton is right when he says Wednesday fans are too forgiving and aren't the type to be as offended as fans of other clubs would be and if this is the case, perhaps Chansiri knows this too which is why he's still here. Perhaps the only way we can do anything about him is by boycotting all matches both league and Cup and never returning until he's well and truly gone.
-
A few people around us started booing, to which a fair bit of abuse was thrown at them. Still very worrying that some people clearly back Chansiri

55 mins on the clock and I'm sat here on the south stand for my first home game of the season due to my refusal to give him my money. The only reason I'm here today is for my nephews 9th birthday. This is like a training match and Coventry look like they could go up a few more gears if they wanted to, it's so easy for them. We look devoid of not only ability but fight also. None of them (other than Weaver) look like they're bothered or even care and as for the atmosphere it's dead. It's all probably down to the problems going on here at Hillsborough which really shows how important it is to get the Thai chump out.

Absolutely disgraceful. This individual should be severely punished by the EFL and trading standards for the long term damage that he's causing to our club. How much longer can he be given to finally kill the club stone dead, which is now clear his intention. I can only see this stopping when he's physically dragged from the building.
-
This guy could still be playing for us at the age of 40. He's clearly very fit and hungry to remain at Wednesday and obviously loves nothing more than playing.
-
I hear you my friend but 3k? I'm not daft enough to think we'll ever achieve a 100% boycott but I'm flummoxed to know why anyone would want to support his regime

As it says, so called Wednesday fans that attend home games clearly aren't true fans of SWFC. Those that attend and insist on giving money to Chansiri to enable him to keep running the club in this way clearly don't have the clubs future at heart and don't care less about what's happening. They obviously agree with what's happening and want Chansiri to remain in charge hence their refusal to stand with true fans who want better for the club. They know full well that throwing money at him will help keep him at the helm and obviously feel it's important to do this. Yes these people are quite entitled to their opinion of Chansiri but so am i and I'll say it here now, I despise him on every level and want him gone now! To those who wish for him to remain as owner and want to continue to financially support his cause by attending home games and purchasing from the kiosks i ask you why? What are you getting out of it? What is he doing so good good for the club that makes you want to go against us true SWFC fans who refuse to give him a single penny? I've had watch my nine year old son cry while sitting in his Wednesday kit on match day, knowing that he won't be going while ever Chansiri is still there but I've sat and explained it to him in words he now thankfully understands so please don't use the kids as your excuse to keep funding him, I've had the same problem but i want the best for our club and it's future so it's my responsibility as a parent to educate my lad about it. When you who insist on attending home games have finally destroyed our once great club i hope to god you can live with yourselves knowing how many peoples lives you've damaged and what harm you've done to not only the local community but also the city of Sheffield.
